SSC CGL 2019 Educational Qualifications

The educational qualifications vary according to the post and can be as per the previous years.
SSC CGL Post Educational Qualifications
Assistant Audit Officer Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University
OR
Desirable Qualification: CA/CS/MBA/Cost & Management Accountant/ Masters in Commerce/ Masters in Business Studies
Statistical Investigator Grade-II Post Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum of 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation
Compiler Posts Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective Subject
All Other Posts Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent
Physical Fitness Requirements: There are certain requisites Physical Standards for Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive Officer), Sub-Inspector in CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and Sub-Inspector in NIA (National Investigation Agency).
Below are the details of the exam pattern that can be adopted for SSC CGL 2019 exam:

The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) is conducted every year in four tiers for various posts. The four tiers are indicated below:

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2019 :Tier-I, II, III & IV Pattern

SSC CGL 2018-19 Tier 1 Exam Pattern

This is CBE (computer-based examination). There are 4 sections in the Tier 1 exam of SSC CGL 2018, with 100 questions that account for a total of 200 marks. The subject-wise details are given below:

Note:

  • There is a negative marking of 0.5 marks in all sections.
  • The duration of the exam is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped.

SSC CGL Tier-II Exam Pattern 2019

SSC CGL Tier-II exam consists of 200 marks. The total time duration to attempt each section is of 2 hours. For physically handicapped students, the cumulative time to complete the Tier-II exam is increased to 2 hours 40 minutes.

  • In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV
  • In Tier-II, Paper-I and Paper-II are compulsory for all the posts.

SSC CGL Tier-III Exam Pattern 2019

Candidates qualified in the CGL Tier II exam will The SSC CGL Tier III exam consists of a written exam where candidates will be required to appear for a descriptive test. The details are as given below.

The Level of exam

The level of exam is an important factor while deciding the cutoff. The SSC CGL 2018  Tier II examination was of a moderate level. The Quantitative Aptitude section was difficult while the English Language section was easy.

Normalization of marks

The most important deciding factor this year would be “Normalization”. SSC has decided to normalize the marks and this is the first time that SSC has adopted normalization in SSC CGL exam.

Since the number of candidates appearing in multiple shifts in the examinations conducted by the Commission is large and the procedure for allocation of examination shift to candidates is random, the following formula will be used by the  Commission to calculate final score of candidates in the multi-shift examinations:
SSC has also used this method in the SSC CGL Tier I examination where we have seen a tremendous increase in the marks of some candidates.

SSC CGL Cut Off: 2018-19 (Tier I)

The SSC CGL Cut off 2019 for the Tier I exam for UR category for the remaining posts apart from AAO, JSO is 137. Normalization played an important role and some candidates even saw an increase of more than 20 marks. The below table depicts post wise detailed cut off for SSC CGL Tier I.
