Exp. India & Japan sign MoU to develop resilient semiconductor supply chain
India has signed an MoU with Japan to develop a resilient semiconductor supply chain.
The MoU is on five fronts, viz. semiconductor design, manufacturing, equipment research, talent development, and bringing resilience to the semiconductor supply chain.
Japan is an important semiconductor producer and technology developer. There will be cooperation on Manufacturing, Equipment Research, and Design.
The semiconductor industry is witnessing rapid growth, surpassing $650 million and is expected to reach $1 billion within the next five to six years.
Japan sees India as a reliable partner with complementary strengths, making it an ideal collaboration prospect.
He laid focus on advanced packing, predicting that the next level of semiconductor development will involve sophisticated packaging at multiple levels.
India’s strength lies in its design capabilities, with over 50 plus designs, making it an attractive destination for semiconductor manufacturing.

Other beneficiaries such as senior citizens, specially-abled persons, widows and single women shall be entitled to a pension under the Bill.
The pension payable shall be increased at the rate of 15 percent per annum from FY 2024-25.
All families of the state, whether urban or rural, will be able to get an employment guarantee of 125 days every year and also get a minimum pension of Rs 1,000 per month in case of aged/disabled/single women, etc.

Based on the scheme guidelines Canara Bank is required to work out the quarterly requirement of funds and raise the demand for the same to the Ministry.

National Broadcasting Day is observed on July 23 every year in India.
The day aims to remind us about the impact of radio on our lives.
This day also marks the start of organized radio broadcasts in the country by All India Radio.
On July 23, 1927, the India Broadcasting Company came into existence and became the first radio company in India. However, the company faced liquidation in less than three years.
Soon after this, All India Radio (AIR) came into being in April 1930 as the Indian Broadcasting Service. On June 8, it was rebranded as All India Radio.
The famous Akashvani tune was composed by Indian Jewish refugee Walter Kauffman in 1930.
The AIR came under the purview of the Department of Information and Broadcasting in British India in 1941.
By Independence, AIR had six radio stations namely in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow and Tiruchirapalli. However, broadcasting began 30 years later on 23 July 1977 in Chennai.
