This is an online exam where candidates have to solve the question paper in an hour for 100 marks. The test comprises of 3 sections. The section-wise distribution of the marks is given below:

SBI SO Exam Pattern (For Systems, CA and Engineering Officers) –
The exam for the post of Systems, CA and Engineering Officers will be conducted in two parts. Candidates will have to attempt Question Paper 1 and Question Paper 2. Question paper 1 will be conducted for 90 minutes. Candidates will be asked to answer 120 questions from three sections namely, English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude. For the post of Law Officers, applicants will have to attempt 2 papers- Question Paper 1 and Question Paper 2. Descriptive Exam
The third question paper for the post of ‘Economist’ will be of a descriptive nature. Candidates will be asked to write an essay on a topic related to Economics. The question paper will be of 50 marks. 45 Minutes will be provided to the candidates to solve the question paper.
SBI Clerk Exam Pattern:
The SBI Clerk Exam Pattern gives all relevant information related to the expected topics, marking scheme and duration. The selection process will consist of an on-line test (preliminary & main examination) and test of specified opted local language.
The SBI Clerk Exam Pattern is given for 2 stages of the exam:
- SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination
- SBI Clerk Main Examination
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination (online) consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

- Each test will have separate timing as mentioned above. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- No minimum qualifying marks for the individual subject as well as for aggregate (overall) are prescribed. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies. subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.

SBI Clerk Syllabus:
The SBI Clerk 2020 syllabus is no different from any other Bank Exam. The major three sections that demand a candidate’s complete command are:
- Reasoning
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Language
These three broad subjects are further subdivided into multiple subheadings. A candidate must look into the previous years’ papers to know the weightage of the sub-topics in each section. The SBI Clerk 2020 Exam is to be conducted in 2 phases:
- Preliminary Exam and
- Mains Exam
The section of English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning is same in both Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam. The only difference is that the Mains Exam of SBI Clerk Exam has an additional section of Computer Knowledge and General Awareness.
