India Successfully Conducts Trials of First Hydrogen-Powered Train on Jind–Sonipat Route
- Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced successful oscillation trials of India’s first hydrogen-powered train, marking a major step in green transportation.
- The trial was conducted by the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), with the train developed by Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai.
- The train is set to run on the Jind–Sonipat route (Haryana) and achieved a maximum speed of 70 km/h during the 20 km trial run.
Delhi Govt Signs MoU with Prasar Bharati to Develop Global Media & Entertainment Hub
- The Delhi Government signed an MoU with Prasar Bharati to develop the national capital into a global hub for media and entertainment.
- The agreement was formalized by Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) at Bharat Mandapam during the International Film Festival in New Delhi.
- The initiative aims to build an integrated ecosystem covering film, television, animation, VFX, gaming, and comics (AVGC) on a single platform.

NCB Signs MoU with UltraTech Cement to Boost Skill Development in Construction Sector
- The National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) signed an MoU with UltraTech Cement Ltd to promote skill development in the construction sector.

India, EU Sign Aviation Pact to Boost Manufacturing and Safety Standards
- The Government of India signed a working arrangement with the European Union to enhance aviation manufacturing and safety standards.
- The agreement was exchanged between the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) ahead of an aviation partnership workshop in New Delhi.

Government Keeps Small Savings Interest Rates Unchanged for Eighth Consecutive Quarter
- The government has kept interest rates unchanged for small savings schemes like PPF and NSC for the eighth consecutive quarter, effective from April 1, 2026.
- As per the Finance Ministry notification, the rates for the first quarter of FY 2026–27 (April–June 2026) remain the same as those in the previous quarter (Jan–March 2026).

Manufacturing Boost Lifts India’s Industrial Growth to 5.2% in February
- India’s industrial growth, measured by the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), increased to 5.2% in February, up from 5.1% in January, driven by strong manufacturing performance.
- The manufacturing sector showed significant improvement, with output growth rising to 6% in February 2026, as per the Statistics Ministry data.
ICRA Projects India’s GDP Growth to Slow to 6.5% in FY27
- ICRA projects India’s GDP growth to moderate to 5% in FY 2026–27, down from 7.6% in the current fiscal, mainly due to high energy prices and supply concerns amid the West Asia conflict.
- The agency also expects the current account deficit (CAD) to widen to 1.7% of GDP, assuming average crude oil prices at around $85 per barrel in FY27.

- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a penalty of ₹31.80 lakh on Airtel Payments Bank Ltd for non-compliance with financial disclosure norms.
- The bank failed to disclose certain customer complaints in its FY 2024–25 financial statements, leading to regulatory action.
