DPIIT started Startup India Innovation Week 2024 from 10th January

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has started the Startup India Innovation Week 2024 to bring startups, entrepreneurs, investors and stakeholders at one stage to promote the startup ecosystem in the country for the continuous growth and development of the economy.

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade organized ghe Startup India Innovation Week 2024 from 10th January to 18th January 2024 to celebrate the National Startup day on 16th January.

Events during the Startup India Innovation Week 2024:

In the ‘Startups Unlocking Infinite Potential’ a Startup seminar which is going to held on 11th January 2024 at the ongoing Tenth Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar, the Secretary of DPIIT, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh is going to address the inaugural speech about the Startup India Innovation Week 2024.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade also organizes the National Startups Awards every year in the Startup India Innovation Week. This year also on 16th January 2024, the result of National startup awards is going to be released. A facilities ceremony for the National Startup awards will also be held on 16th January 2024.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade will also release the States’ Startup Ranking Framework during the Startup India Innovation Week 2024. There is also an arrangement of various physical events such as workshops for startups, mentorship sessions, stakeholder round tables, panel discussions, among others during the Startup India Innovation Week.

To work on the capacity building of the startups and make the new entrepreneurs understand about the business structure process to establish a business entity and have the best business plan, five dedicated mentorship sessions are also going to be conducted during the Startup India Innovation Week 2024. Eight virtual sessions ‘Ask me Anything’ are also going to be conducted.

About Startup India Initiative:

Startup India Initiative launched by the PM Narendra Modi on 16th January 2016. Around 114000 startups have been recognised by the government under the Startup India Initiative and thus created more than 12 lakh jobs and this is the milestone for the Programme.

Under the fund of Funds for startups India initiative there are around 17,272 crore has been invested by Alternative Investment Funds. Around 747 crore has been disbursed under Startup India Seed Fund Scheme.

Government has also implemented Credit Guarantee Scheme for startups to provide credit Guarantee to schedule commercial banks,NBFCs and AIFs and the scheme was operationalised by 1st April 2023.

Conclusion:

During the Startup India Innovation Week 2024, the Department For Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade is also going to collaborate with the Department of Youth Affairs to showcase the importance of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Initiative and Mera yuva Bharat portal which was launched on 31st October 2023 by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
