Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index 2023: Hyderabad tops in India
Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index has been launched and Hyderabad is declared as the best city to live in India. Vienna in Austria topped the Index by being the most livable city in the world.
Vienna is the best city in the world to live in because of its rich culture, astounding history, mind blowing architecture and high standards of Living Vienna provides to its people- According to the Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index.
In the world’s scenario:
Vienna is followed by Zurich in Switzerland in second place and Auckland in New Zealand in the third position.
On the other hand many African cities got lower ratings in Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index such as N’Djamena (Chad), Bangui (Central African Republic) and Khartoum (Sudan), ranked 236th, 239th and 241st, respectively.
Sana’a (Yemen), one of the locations of the Middle East, was ranked 238th in Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index 2023. These lower rating cities are a major concern for the world authorities and need adequate attention to humanitarian efforts.
Baghdad in Iraq is also ranked 240th in Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index 2023.
There are seven European cities in the top 10 cities in Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index. Some other high ranked cities in Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index are Amsterdam, The Netherlands (14th); Oslo, Norway (24th); ; Paris, France (32nd); Helsinki, Finland (34th); and Dublin, Ireland (42nd).
The scenario in India:
If we talk about the performance of Indian cities, Hyderabad is ranked 153th in the world, in top in India. It is followed by Pune at 154th rank and second best city to live in India as per Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index.
Bengaluru ranked 156th position and Chennai became the fourth best Indian city to live as per Mercer’s Worldwide Quality of Living Index. Overall Chennai ranked 161th.
