Ministry of education launched “PRERANA” Program for students

PRERANA: An Experiential Learning program has been launched by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India to provide an inspiring experience of learning to the students of class IX to XII across the country.

PRERANA is a one week long program which has a strong commitment to fulfill the requirements of National Education Policy by integrating valuable principles of the Indian Education system and enhancing the philosophy of a strong Education system which provides value learning.

PRERANA- value based learning experience:

The students from class IX to XII can participate in this one week long residential program by the Ministry of education through the online registration process. Students will experience best in technology driven classes majorly focused on the modern combination of heritage and innovation.

One of the Vernacular schools of India situated in Vadnagar, district Mehsana, Gujarat, established in 1888, will be the commencement center for the PRERANA program. Vadnagar is one of the oldest living cities of India and also famous for ancient heritage sites and monuments of early historical period as well as from the modern time. The city has registered many triumphs over challenges such as earthquakes and natural calamities over the period.

Curriculum and themes:

IIT Gandhinagar,  Gujarat is the main body to prepare the curriculum of PRERANA program. This curriculum is based on nine themes-

• Shaurya and sahas
• Jigyasa and navachar
• Swabhiman and Vinay
• Parishram and Samarpan
• Karuna and Sewa
• Vividhta and Ekta
• Satyanishtha and Shuchita
• Shraddha aur Vishwas
• Swatantrata and Kartavya.

The PRERANA program by the Ministry of education aims to inspire the youth by these above stated themes and take them forward to the ambition of the nation “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.

Activities:

The PRERANA program includes some day based programs such as yoga, meditation centers ,mindfulness, thematic sessions, experiential learnings and interesting learning activities.

In the evening of each day in the week, the students will witness some more value based programs such as visit to heritage sites,film screenings, talent shows, Mission life creativity and many more activities.

Interested students can apply online to register for the PRERANA program by the Department of Education by filling in the required details. After that these submitted applications will go through the selection process and finally 20 students (10 girls and 10 boys) will be selected as a batch to participate in the PRERANA program.

Conclusion:

The PRERANA program seems to be an ambitious initiative of the Department of education. The main objective of this program is to create inspiring youth by providing value based learning experience to the students across the country.
