List of Nobel Prize 2024 Winners
The Nobel Prizes are announced for the year 2024 in its six different categories namely economics, chemistry, literature, physics, physiology or medicine and peace.
All the winners of the Nobel Prize for the year 2024 have been recently awarded the prize money, medals and diplomas.
History of Nobel Prize:
Swedish chemist, engineer and industrialist Alfred Nobel, who famous for his invention of dynamite, willed his all assets for five prizes. These five prizes in different field are known as ‘Nobel Prize’.
After the death of the Alfred Nobel in 1896, the first Nobel Prize was awarded in 1901 as per his will.
The Nobel Prizes were introduced in five separate prizes and it is awarded to individual(s) or organisation or institution for doing the work in preceding year to the greatest benefit to humankind.
The sixth award was introduced in 1968 which is funded by the Sweden’s central bank ‘Sveriges Riksbank’ for the establishment of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel.
The Prize:
The winner of the prize, known as laureate, receives a green gold medal plated with 24 karat gold, a diploma and the prize money.
The prize money is currently having 11,000,000 Swedish Krona (SEK).
Who gave Nobel prizes?
Except to the peace prize, all the Nobel Prizes are presented in Stockholm, Sweden, at the annual Prize Award Ceremony on 10 December by the Nobel Foundation.
The Nobel Peace Prize is presented by Norwegian government at the annual Prize Award Ceremony in Oslo, Norway.

The nominations for each prize have been picked by four different selection committees which are as follows:
For Chemistry; Physics; Economics- Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences
For Literature- Swedish Academy
For Physiology / Medicine- Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institute
For Peace- Norwegian Nobel Committee
