PM Modi on two day visit to attend Bastille Day parade of France

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Paris on two day official visit over Guest of honour to Bastille Day Parade of France. Indian PM Narendra Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the airport by welcoming ceremony by French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne at the airport.

French President Emmanuel Macron has also welcomed PM Narendra Modi and hosted private dinner for him at their Elysee Palace.

PM Modi thanked French President and first lady Brigitte Macron to host private dinner for him at Elysee Palace in Paris.

The Bastille Day Parade:

  • The Bastille Day Parade is organized to celebrate the French National Day on 14th July and this time Indian Prime Minister is the Guest of Honour for the parade.
  • PM Modi has joined French President Emmanuel Macron for the French National Day in Paris as the Guest of Honour.
  • An Indian tri-service has also took part of the Bastille Day Parade and Indian Air Force aircraft performed a fly-past on the occasion.

25 years of India-France partnership:

  • India and Franc are celebrating their 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership and it has been made historical by official visit of India’s prime minister in France.
  • This visit makes strong relation between India-France strategic relations to combat challenges in the world together.

France’s highest award given to PM Modi:

  • PM Modi conferred with France’s highest award, ‘Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour’ on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • The Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour is the highest honour in military or civilian orders.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi becomes the first Indian PM to receive this honour.

India’s UPI in France:

  • India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment system is going to be available in France.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India and France have agreed on UPI.
  • France becomes the first European Nation to allow UPI system in the country. With this India opened its huge opportunity in European Market.
  • He addressed the Indian community at the La Seine Musicale and announced that Indian tourists would be allowed to pay in rupee through UPI from atop the Eiffel Tower.
