SUFALAM 2024 event was inaugurated by the Food Processing Industry

The Food Processing Minister, Mr. Pashupati Kumar Paras, discussed how important startups are in the food processing industry. He inaugurated the “SUFALAM: Start-Up Forum for Aspiring Leaders and Mentors Startup Conclave 2024″ and said events like this are great for networking, sharing knowledge, and helping startups use government programs. He mentioned that this shows the government’s strong support for new businesses and helps people who want to start food processing companies.

Significance:

Minister of State for Food Processing, Ms. Shobha Karandlaje talked about important parts of the supply chain and food processing industry.

She said how it can help in achieving the Prime Minister’s goal of doubling farmers’ earnings and making India more important worldwide by exporting more and meeting global food needs.

Mrs. Anita Praveen, Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) highlighted how important it is to register all small entrepreneurs, self-help groups  and small businesses on the Start-Up India Portal.

She explained the big opportunity for processing and adding value to farm products considering that India produces the most farm goods. She also highlighted various schemes from MoFPI that help startups to succeed and contribute to the Prime Minister’s vision of making India self-reliant.

Mr. Minhaj Alam, Additional Secretary of MoFPI and Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director of NIFTEM-K, was also present at the event.

“SUFALAM” is seen as an important platform to encourage new ideas, promote cooperation, and boost growth in the food processing industry.

Over 250 industry stakeholders, startups, small businesses, financial institutions and investors took part in the event which lasted two days. It included four sessions to share knowledge, two sessions for startups to present their ideas and an exhibition.

The knowledge sessions were done with the help of organizations like FSSAI, EIC, APEDA, Start-up India, and FICCI, while the startup presentations were supported by big companies like Nestle India, HDFC Bank, Buhler India, Marico, Indian Angel Network, ITC Foods, LT Foods, and TCPL. There were 35 exhibitors from all over India showcasing their products at the event.

The Startup Conclave for Food Processing Entrepreneurs is expected to be a game changing event pushing the sector towards a future focused on new ideas, sustainability, and growth for everyone.
