  1. Doyen (noun)

Meaning: the most respected or prominent person in a particular field. (दिग्गज)

Synonyms: veteran, master, maven

Antonyms: novice, beginner

Sentence: Arthur C Clarke is the doyen of science-fiction writers

  1. Ebb (verb)

Meaning: (of an emotion or quality) gradually lessen or reduce. (अवनति)

Synonyms: diminish, dwindle, wane

Antonyms: ascent, rise, upswing

Sentence: Every tide has its ebb.

  1. Harbinger (noun)

Meaning: a person or thing that announces or signals the approach of another. (अग्र-दूत)

Synonyms: herald, sign, indicator

Sentence: The cuckoo is a harbinger of spring.

  1. Mingling (verb)

Meaning: mix or cause to mix together. (घुलना मिलना)

Synonyms: mix, blend, intermingle

Antonyms: breaking up, separating, unmixing

  1. Drape (verb)

Meaning: to make more attractive by adding something that is beautiful or becoming (सजाना)

  1. Vitriol (noun)

Meaning: biting sharpness of feeling or expression (व्यंग्य)

Synonyms: acridity, acridness, acrimony

Antonyms: civility, cordiality, courtesy

  1. Posthaste (adv.)

Meaning: with great speed or immediacy. (बहुत तेज़ी से)

Synonyms: immediately, promptly, readily

Antonyms: slowly, ploddingly, sluggishly

Sentence: Medical aid must be sent to the stricken area posthaste.

  1. Rancor (noun)

Meaning: bitterness or resentfulness, especially when long-standing. (विद्वेष)

Synonyms: bitterness, resentment, malice

Antonyms: amity, goodwill, sympathy

Sentence: I have no rancor against him.

  1. Periphery (noun)

Meaning: the outer limits or edge of an area or object. (उपनगर)

Synonyms: margin, fringe, boundary

Antonyms: inner, inside, interior

Sentence: Houses have been built on the periphery of the factory site.

  1. Persecute (verb)

Meaning: subject (someone) to hostility and ill-treatment, especially because of their race or political or religious beliefs. (सताना)

Synonyms: oppress, abuse, victimize

Antonyms: comfort, console, assist

Sentence: His followers were persecuted by the authorities.
