‘Vocabulary’
- Hover (verb)
Meaning: remain in one place in the air. (मंडराना)
Synonyms: float, be suspended
Sentence: Army helicopters hovered overhead.
- Mendacity (noun)
Meaning: a statement known by its maker to be untrue and made in order to deceive (झूठ)
Synonyms: lie, prevarication, falsity
Antonyms: truth, fact, honesty
Sentence: Politicians are often accused of mendacity.
- Providence (noun)
Meaning: the protective care of God or of nature as a spiritual power. (मितव्ययिती)
Synonyms: fate, destiny, fortune
Sentence: Providence is always on the side of the strongest battalions.
- Trumpet (verb)
Meaning: to make known openly or publicly (घोषणा करना)
Synonyms: announce, publish, proclaim
Antonyms: withhold, conceal, suppress
Sentence: The company trumpeted the launch of the new phone that had none of the bugs the old one was known for.
- Perspicacious (adj.)
Meaning: having a ready insight into and understanding of things. (कुशाग्र बुद्धि)
Synonyms: discerning, shrewd, perceptive
Antonyms: foolish, idiotic, moronic
Sentence: He was perspicacious enough to realize that things were soon going to change.
- Foyer (noun)
Meaning: an entrance hall or other open area in a building used by the public, especially a hotel or theater. (प्रवेशद्वार)
Synonyms: entrance hall, hallway, lobby
Sentence: I’ll meet you in the foyer.
- Renascence (noun)
Meaning: the revival of something that has been dormant. (नवयुग)
Synonyms: revival, rebirth, resurgence
Antonyms: death, extinction, expiration

Meaning: kind, gentle, or compassionate treatment especially towards someone (सज्जनता)

- Haphazard (adj.)
Meaning: lacking any obvious principle of organization. (बेढ़ंगा)

Antonyms: systematic, orderly, regular
Sentence: The government’s approach to the problem was haphazard.
- Veneer (noun)
Meaning: a deceptively attractive external appearance (दिखावा)
Synonyms: facade, gloss
Sentence: The veneer of civility that the neighbours had maintained over the years disappeared with the filing of the first lawsuit.
