  1. Resplendent (adj.)

Meaning: attractive and impressive through being richly colorful or sumptuous. (उत्कृष्ट)

Synonyms: splendid, magnificent, brilliant

Antonyms: unappealing, unappetizing, unpleasant

Sentence: She looked resplendent in her green evening gown.

  1. Extenuating (verb)

Meaning: (of a factor or situation) serving to lessen the seriousness of an offense. (कम करना)

Synonyms: excuse, mitigate, palliate

Sentence: Even the fact that you once helped to save my life could not extenuate your offense.

  1. Testament (noun)

Meaning: something presented in support of the truth or accuracy of a claim (प्रमाण)

Synonyms: proof. testimony. evidence

Antonyms: rebuttal, refutation, presumption

Sentence: The monument is a worthy testament to the courage of the men who fought in the war.

  1. Aforementioned (adj.)

Meaning: denoting a thing or person previously mentioned. (पूर्वकथित)

Synonyms: aforesaid, foregoing, forenamed

Antonyms: following, subsequent, succeeding

Sentence: With the aforementioned reservation, I would recommend the movie for hardcore sci-fi fans.

  1. Conflagration (noun)

Meaning: an extensive fire which destroys a great deal of land or property. (आग)

Synonyms: fire, blaze, flames

Sentence: A conflagration in 1947 reduced 90 percent of the houses to ashes.

  1. Mercenary (adj.)

Meaning: having or marked by an eager and often selfish desire especially for material possessions (लालच)

Synonyms: greedy, avaricious, acquisitive

Antonyms: altruistic, charitable, liberal

Sentence: She’s interested in him for purely mercenary reasons.

  1. Pluck (noun)

Meaning: spirited and determined courage. (साहस)

Synonyms: courage, bravery, daring

Antonyms: timidity, cowardice

Sentence: She showed a lot of pluck in dealing with the intruders.

  1. Neoteric (adj.)

Meaning: new or modern; recent. (हाल में हुआ)

Synonyms: latest, modern, recent

Antonyms: old, oldfangled

Sentence: The key problem of neoteric vicissitude in China is the social modernization of China.

  1. Withal (adv.)

Meaning: in addition; as a further factor or consideration. (साथ ही साथ)

Synonyms: additionally, furthermore, as well

Sentence: She is fair and a wise lady withal.

  1. Abortive (adj.)

Meaning: failing to produce the intended result. (निष्फल)

Synonyms: failed, unsuccessful, futile

Antonyms: effective, effectual, efficacious

Sentence: He made an abortive attempt to recover the sunken pirate ship.
