  1. Defenestration (noun)

Meaning: the action of throwing someone out of a window. (खिड़की से बाहर निकालना)

Sentence: Death by defenestration has a venerable history.

  1. Betwixt (preposition)

Meaning: between (two people or things). (बीच में)

Synonyms: between, among, amidst

Antonyms: from, out of

Sentence: He took a seat betwixt two other passengers.

  1. Palaver (verb)

Meaning: to engage in casual or rambling conversation (वार्ता)

Synonyms: chat, talk, converse

Antonyms: quiet

Sentence: Mothers palavering and drinking coffee while watching their children play.

  1. Omniscient (adj.)

Meaning: knowing everything; having unlimited understanding or knowledge (सर्वज्ञ)

Synonyms: almighty, all-knowing

Antonyms: natural

Sentence: The novel has an omniscient narrator.

  1. Hallowed (adj.)

Meaning: set apart or worthy of veneration by association with God (पवित्र)

Synonyms: sacred, holy, venerated

Antonyms: unhallowed, nonreligious

Sentence: Hallowed traditions that bind the present generation with all those that have gone before.

  1. Assessing (verb)

Meaning: evaluate or estimate the nature, ability, or quality of. (आकलन)

Synonyms: estimating, evaluating, judge

Sentence: What criteria are used for assessing a student’s ability?

  1. Extricate (verb)

Meaning: to set free from entanglement or difficulty (छुडाना)

Synonyms: liberate, free, disentangle

Antonyms: hinder, impede, embroil

Sentence: How was he going to extricate himself from this situation?

  1. Cursory (adj.)

Meaning: acting or done with excessive or careless speed (तीव्र)

Synonyms: hurried, rushed, hasty

Antonyms: deliberate, unhurried, unrushed

Sentence: He signed with only a cursory glance at the report.

  1. Frowned (verb)

Meaning: to look with anger or disapproval (क्रोध से देखना)

Synonyms: glared, stared, scowled

Antonyms: smiled, grinned

Sentence: The boss just stood there and frowned at his assistant who, once again, was in trouble.

  1. Proofreading (verb)

Meaning: to look for and correct mistakes in (a written or printed piece of writing) (ठीक करना)

Synonyms: reviewing, studying, scanning

Sentence: He proofread the essay carefully.
