17th Summer Paralympic 2024: Highlights
The 2024 Summer Paralympics also known as the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and branded as Paris 2024, were the 17th Summer Paralympic Games, an international multi-sport parasports event governed by the International Paralympic Committee. The Games were held in Paris, France, from 28 August to 8 September 2024, and featured 549 medal events across 22 sports.

Mascot and Motto of the 2024 Paris Paralympics
- The mascot for the 2024 Paris Paralympics is the Phrygian cap, a symbol of liberty and revolution in France’s history.
- The Phrygian cap is also the mascot for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
- The mascots’ motto is “Alone we go faster, but together we go further“.
About Indian Contingent in the Paris Paralympics
- India has sent 84 athletes to the Paris Games.
- In the Paris Para Olympics, 52 male and 32 female Indian athletes are participating in the Paris Para Olympics.
- Preethi Pal, Harvinder Singh were the Indian flag bearers at the closing ceremony.
- Bhagyashree Jadhav, Sumit Antil were the Indian flag bearers at the opening ceremony.
- Out of the 22 sporting disciplines in the Paris Para Olympics, India will participate in 12: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Cycling, Judo, Paracanoeing, Powerlifting, Rowing, Shooting, Swimming, Table tennis, Taekwondo
