Eligibility Criteria:
To apply for the AFMS Medical Officer Recruitment 2025 candidates are required to clear the minimum eligibility criteria mentioned by the Armed Forces Medical Services in the official notification.
Educational Qualification
Indian male and female candidates can apply for the AFMS Medical Officer (Short Service Commission) post. To be eligible:
- You must have passed your final MBBS exam (Part I & II) in not more than two attempts.
- You should have appeared in the NEET PG exam in 2024 or 2025
- Civilian Doctors having a Post Graduate degree don’t need to take NEET PG again. Their earlier NEET PG marks will be considered.
- You must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/NMC/MCI.
- Candidates with a postgraduate degree recognized by the State Medical Council, NBE, or NMC are also eligible to apply.
Internship Completion
Only those candidates who have completed their internship on or before 31 Jul 2025 can apply
Age Limit
- MBBS degree holders must be below 30 years of age on 31 December 2025
- Post Graduate (PG) degree holders must be below 35 years of age on 31 December 2025.
AFMS Medical Officer Salary 2025:
On commissioning, AFMS Medical Officers are appointed as Captain (or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force) and receive a pay package as per Level 10B of the Defence Pay Matrix, which includes a basic pay of ₹61,300, MSP of ₹15,500, NPA, HRA (as per city), transport allowance of ₹3,600 to ₹7,200, DA, and an annual dress allowance of ₹20,000. In addition, they are entitled to ration or ration allowance, subsidized accommodation, PG allowance for specialists, 60 days annual leave, 20 days casual leave, LTC, free medical facilities for self and family, group insurance, and CSD canteen benefits.
