Educational Qualification:
Candidates must hold the following qualifications to be eligible for the respective posts:
- Management Trainee (Mechanical): A First-Class, full-time Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
- Management Trainee (Electrical): A First-Class, full-time Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
- Important Note: Candidates with degrees from allied branches of Mechanical/Electrical, including Electronics Engineering (for the Electrical post), are also eligible to apply. However, the computer-based test will strictly be based on the Mechanical and Electrical engineering syllabi.
Age Limit:
The upper age limit for applying for the Management Trainee position as of September 12, 2025, is:
- Maximum Age: 29 years
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Government of India guidelines (5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, and 10 years for PwD candidates).
BEML Management Trainee Salary and Benefits:
A career at BEML as a Management Trainee comes with a robust financial package and extensive benefits. The position is classified under Grade-II with a pay scale of ₹40,000 – ₹1,40,000. During the one-year training period, you will receive a starting basic pay of ₹40,000 per month. Upon successful completion of training, you will be absorbed as an Officer (Grade-II) with an additional increment.
The comprehensive remuneration package includes:
- Basic Pay: Starting at ₹40,000 per month.
- Allowances: You will receive Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) and other Perquisites & Allowances calculated at 13.78% of your Basic Pay under the cafeteria system.
- HRA: Company accommodation or House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be provided based on your place of posting.
- Retirement Benefits: Contributions to Provident Fund and Gratuity are made as per company rules.
- Performance Related Pay (PRP): You will also be eligible for performance-based incentives.
- Service Bond: Selected candidates must execute a service bond to serve the company for 4 years (including the training period). The bond amount is ₹2,00,000.

BEML Management Trainee Selection Process:
The selection process is a multi-stage procedure designed to identify the most suitable candidates. It involves a written test followed by an interview.
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
The first stage is a computer-based written test to assess candidates’ technical and cognitive abilities.
- Test Content: The CBT will feature questions on your respective technical domain (Mechanical or Electrical) and a section to test reasoning and English ability.
- Duration: The exam will be for a duration of 2 hours.
- Qualifying Marks: The pass mark for the written test is 60% (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
Stage 2: Personal Interview
Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be shortlisted for the subsequent assessment stage, which includes a personal interview.
Stage 3: Final Merit List & Medical Examination
A final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in the written test and the interview. Provisionally selected candidates will then undergo a pre-employment medical examination as per BEML’s prescribed standards.
