BhashaNet Portal for digital inclusion is going to jointly launch by NIXI and MeitY

National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) are going to jointly organize an event and they are going to launch BhashaNet Portal for digital inclusion around the nation.

This will be the second event hosted by the National Internet Exchange of India with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology jointly. The BhashaNet Portal is going to be launched on 21st March 2024 at Dr Ambedkar International Centre in the National Capital. On this day Universal Acceptance (UA) Day is scheduled to take place.

Objectives:

The launch of BhashaNet Portal underscores the joint ambitious commitment to enhance and foster the universal acceptance of the digital ecosystem and also to promote advanced digital inclusion across the Nation.

To support the Universal acceptance day, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the Internet Governance division, MeitY, Government of India actively come forward to celebrate the day with great enthusiasm.

Theme:

The theme of the event is going to be BhashaNet: Impetus Towards Universal Acceptance. The futuristic theme of the event highlights the importance of digital inclusion. Digital inclusion means that every individual regardless of their mother tongue and language can take advantage of the digital world without any other barriers.

The National Internet Exchange of India NIXI was established in 2003 as a non-profit organization, with the objective of facilitating Internet traffic exchange among Internet Service Providers (ISPs) within India. The organization was founded under the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India.
