Bihar SHS Lab Technician Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria & Vacancies Details:

Before applying, it is crucial to carefully review the eligibility criteria set by the State Health Society, Bihar. The cut-off date for age limit is August 1, 2025, and for educational qualifications and experience, it is the last date of online application, September 3, 2025.

Educational Qualification

For Senior Laboratory Technician:

• M.Sc in Medical Microbiology / Applied Microbiology / General Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry with or without DMLT. OR
• B.Sc in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Chemistry / Life Science / Botany / Zoology with DMLT.

For Laboratory Technician:

• Must have passed Intermediate / 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• This must be followed by a Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) or a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) from a recognized University/Institution.

Experience

For Senior Laboratory Technician:

• Candidates with an M.Sc degree require two years of work experience in TB Laboratory testing, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis-related Genotypic or Phenotypic tests.
• Candidates with a B.Sc degree require three years of work experience in the same field.

Age Limit (as of 01/08/2025)

The minimum age for all candidates is 21 years. The upper age limit varies by category:

• Unreserved/EWS (Male): 37 years
• Unreserved/EWS (Female): 40 years
• BC/EBC (Male & Female): 40 years
• SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years
• Persons with Disability (PwD): A relaxation of 10 years is applicable.
• Departmental Employees: A relaxation of 5 years is applicable.

Bihar SHS Lab Technician Salary and Financial Benefits:

This recruitment offers a competitive consolidated monthly salary that provides financial stability. Understanding the complete remuneration package is essential for every applicant. The salary for the selected candidates will be a fixed monthly amount as per the NHM guidelines.

For the Senior Laboratory Technician, the monthly salary is ₹24,000. For the Laboratory Technician position, the monthly salary is ₹15,000.

While this is a contractual position under the National Health Mission (NHM), it’s important to understand that this is a consolidated pay. This means the amount mentioned is the gross salary per month. Unlike permanent government positions, the detailed breakdown of allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Travel Allowance (TA) is not provided separately; they are factored into the consolidated figure. Bihar SHS Lab Technician Selection Process:

The selection process for the Bihar SHS Lab Technician Recruitment 2025 is designed to be fair and transparent, focusing on assessing the candidate’s knowledge and experience. The entire process is based on a merit list prepared from the scores obtained in the Computer Based Test and work experience.

Tier 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

The primary stage of the selection process is a Computer Based Test (CBT).

• The test will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
• Each question will carry 1 mark, making the total marks for the exam 75.
• The duration of the exam will be 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes).
• The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi.
• There will be negative marking, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.

The final merit list will be prepared by giving 80% weightage to the marks obtained in the CBT and 20% weightage to relevant work experience (specifically for those who worked during the COVID-19 pandemic).
