Telangana government inaugurated T-Hub 2.0, innovation centre in Hyderabad

  • Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao inaugurated T-Hub 2.0, the world’s largest innovation campus in
  • The facility will support over 2,000 startups under one roof, with a total built-up area of 5, 82,689 square feet, making it the world’s largest innovation campus. T-Hub will provide young Indians to launch their startups with a collaborative innovation ecosystem.
  • T-Hub was founded to bring together the best talent from across the country to nurture a startup ecosystem, but it had become a national role model. It has impacted 2,000 entrepreneurs and witnessed funding of 1.19 billion dollars for startups.

Maharashtra government approved renaming of Aurangabad, Osmanabad

  • The renaming of the cities Aurangabad and Osmanabad was agreed by the Maharashtra state cabinet. Both places will now be called Sambhaji Nagar and Dharashiv, respectively.
  • Additionally, Navi Mumbai Airport will now be known as DB Patil International Airport.

India’s Tata Motors partnered with Japan’s Renesas to develop chip solutions

  • India’s Tata Motors and Japanese chipmaker Renesas Electronics Corp have formed a strategic partnership to design, develop and manufacture semiconductor solutions for domestic and global markets.
  • As part of the partnership, Renesas will also work with Tejas Networks, a Tata Group company, on wireless network solutions including 5G.
  • The move comes as a persistent global shortage of semiconductor chips has hobbled the automotive and electronics industries, among others, forcing production cutbacks, while highlighting global dependence on a few sources, such as Taiwan.

Sandeep Kumar Gupta to be next chairman of GAIL, succeeds Manoj Jain

  • Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Director for Finance at Indian Oil Corporation, has been picked to head India’s largest gas utility GAIL (India) Ltd.
  • He will replace Manoj Jain, who is scheduled to retire on August 31.
  • GAIL is India’s largest gas transmission and gas marketing company, with a 14,502-kilometre gas pipeline network and a capacity of 206 million standard cubic meters a day. Its natural gas pipeline network covers 21 states.
  • It holds around 70 per cent share of the gas-transmission network and more than 50 per cent share of natural gas sales in India.

  • Celebrated advocate KK Venugopal, was re-appointed the Attorney General for India for three months.

India successfully tested high-speed expendable aerial target Abhyas from the Odisha Coast

  • India has successfully flight-tested the indigenously developed high-speed expendable aerial target – ABHYAS, from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur off the Odisha coast.
  • ABHYAS is designed and developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment of Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
  • The aircraft is programmed for a fully autonomous flight, meaning that it flies under the control of automatic systems and needs no intervention from a human pilot.
  • During the test flight, the aircraft was flown from a ground-based controller to examine its manoeuvrability and performance at low altitudes. The air vehicle was launched using twin under-slung boosters during the demonstration, which provided initial acceleration. It is powered by a small gas turbine engine for endurance flights at high subsonic speed.

4th Synergy Conference between Indian Army and Defence Accounts Department in New Delhi

  • Fourth Synergy Conference between Indian Army and Defence Accounts Department (DAD) was held in New Delhi.
  • The day-long conference was co-chaired by Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) Lt Gen BS Raju & Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) Shri Rajnish Kumar and attended by senior officers of Indian Army and DAD.
  • The primary agenda of the conference included deliberations on AGNIPATH scheme and the schedule for timely implementation of a system for pay and allowances for Agniveers.
  • Other agenda items included improving the functioning of Pay and Accounts Offices (PAOs) for better service delivery to Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks of the Indian Army.


ISRO launched rocket PSLV-C53, carrying 3 Singapore satellite

  • Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully launched three Singaporean satellites from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
  • The spacecraft will deploy the three missions in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) at an altitude of 570 km measured from the equator. This is the 55th mission of PSLV and the 15th mission using the PSLV-Core Alone variant. It is the 16th PSLV launch from the second launch pad.
  • PSLV-C53 (PSLV stands for Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) is the second dedicated commercial mission of NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of ISRO
  • NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) a corporate arm of the Department of Space (DOS) is launching the mission under its agreement with Singapore in what is the second commercial mission for the body.

NASA launched CAPSTONE to evaluate new orbit for Artemis Moon Missions

  • NASA launched a microwave oven-sized CubeSat to the Moon, which has set in motion its Artemis program that aims to return humans to the lunar surface.
  • Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment (CAPSTONE) has launched on top of a Rocket Lab Electron rocket Launch Complex 1 on the Mahia Peninsula of New Zealand.
  • It will serve as the first spacecraft to test a unique, elliptical lunar orbit and act as a pathfinder for Gateway, a Moon-orbiting outpost part of the Artemis program. Capstone will help reduce the risk for future spacecraft by validating innovative navigation technologies and verifying the dynamics of this unique, halo-shaped orbit.

1 July –74th National Chartered Accountants'(CA) Day

  • Chartered Accountants’ (CA) day is celebrated annually on 1 July with an aim to commemorate the findings of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) by Parliament in 1949.
  • The ICAI is the only licensing and regulatory body for the profession of accounting and financial auditing in India. Every finance and accounting organization including National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) is required to follow the recommendations of accounting standards made by them.
