World Bank Approved Rs 1,860 Crore Loan for Initiatives of SALT Programme in AP
- The government has given the administrative approval to the School Education Department to take up ‘Supporting Andhra’s Learning Transformation’ (SALT) project with a loan assistance of USD 250 million from the World Bank for supporting various initiatives in school education.
- Curriculum reforms, improved classroom practices, professional development of teachers and preparing students to be globally competitive by introducing English as a medium of instruction in government schools through SALT.

- $105 Million-To improve the inland water transport infrastructure in Kolkata
- $100 million- for CHIRAAG (Chhattisgarh Inclusive Rural and Accelerated Agriculture Growth)
- $68 million- improve quality of school education in Nagaland
- $500 million- help boost India’s MSME sector
- $32 million-Improving healthcare services in Mizoram
FM Sitharaman’s announces relief package worth Rs 6,28,993 crore against COVID-19
- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a relief package worth Rs 6,28,993 crore to support Indian economy in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
- A total of 17 measures amounting to Rs 6,28,993 crore were announced 3 broad categories.
- Economic Relief from Pandemic (8), Strengthening Public Health (1), Impetus for Growth & Employment (8).
Note: About Relied Fund
- Economic relief from COVID-19 Pandemic – Rs 3,76,244 cr.
- New scheme for Public Health – Rs 15,000 Cr.
- Impetus for Growth and Employment – Rs 2,37,749 Cr.

Appointment
Vigilance Commissioner Suresh N Patel appointed as acting CVC
- The incumbent Vigilance Commissioner, Suresh N Patel has been appointed as the acting Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) of India in the Central Vigilance Commission with effect.
- He has been appointed in place of Sanjay Kothari, who completed his term on June 23, 2021. He will remain on the post until the appointment of the new Central Vigilance Commissioner.

Praveen Sinha appointed as Special Director of CBI
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Praveen Sinha as the Special Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Special Director is the second senior-most position in the agency after the Director.
- The post was vacant since the last three years and was earlier held by Rakesh Asthana.

Deepika Kumari won Gold Medal at Archery World Cup Stage 3
- The ace Indian archer Deepika Kumari, created a new world record as she claimed three back-to-back gold medals in a single day, during the Archery World Cup Stage 3, held in Paris.
- India topped the medals tally with four gold medals. The fourth gold medal came by Abhishek Verma, from men’s individual event in the compound section.

- The government of India is celebrated National Statistics day on 29th June on the birth anniversary of Prof. P C Mahalanobis.
- The Day is celebrated to create awareness among youth about the role of statistics in socio-economic planning and policy formulation. National Statistics Day was first celebrated on 29th June 2007.
