AFI partnered with HSBC India to support young women athletes

  • Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has partnered with HSBC India to support women athletes of the country, especially the youngsters.
  • Under the partnership, promising girls will be picked from the National Inter District Championships for Under-14 and Under-16 categories and would be nurtured to perform on the global stage.
  • Special coaching camps would be set up for the selected athletes and all their needs would be taken care of.

NPPA launched apps for enhancing ease of business

  • Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has addressed the silver jubilee celebrations of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA).
  • At the inaugural session of the event, the Integrated Pharmaceutical Database Management System 2.0 (IPDMS 2.0) and Pharma Sahi Daam 2.0 app were launched.
  • IPDMS 2.0 is an integrated, responsive, cloud-based application developed by NPPA with technical support from Centre for Advance Computing (C-DAC).
  • Pharma Sahi Daam 2.0 app will have updated features like speech recognition, availability in Hindi and English, share button and medicine bookmarking. This version of Pharma Sahi Daam also has a facility for launching complaints by consumers through the consumer complaint-handling module.

POSCO signed an MoU with Greenko to make green hydrogen

  • Global steelmaker POSCO has signed an MoU with ZeroC, a subsidiary of renewable energy company Greenko to make green hydrogen in India.
  • This partnership will also explore opportunities in the production of renewable energy in India.
  • Green hydrogen refers to hydrogen generated by renewable energy or from low-carbon power.

All-India house price index increased by 3.5% in Q1 of 2022-23

  • According to RBI data, tshe all India house price index (HPI) rose by 3.5 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022-23.
  • The growth in the HPI was 1.8 percent during January-March and 2 percent in the April-June quarter of 2021-22.
  • The year-on-year movements in HPI varied widely across the cities – ranging from a growth of 16 per cent in Kolkata to a contraction of 4 per cent in Bengaluru.
  • The central bank releases its quarterly house price index (HPI) based on transaction-level data received from the housing registration authorities in 10 major cities.
  • The cities are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Mumbai.

CERT-In conducted exercise Cyber Security Exercise “Synergy”

  • Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has collaborated with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore to design and conduct the Cyber Security Exercise “Synergy” for 13 Countries.
  • It was a part of the International Counter Ransomware Initiative- Resilience Working Group.
  • The Group is being led by India under the leadership of National Security Council Secretariat.
  • Theme – Building Network Resiliency to counter Ransomware Attacks
  • The specific objective of the exercise was to assess, share and improve strategies and practices among member-states to build network resiliency against ransomware and cyber extortion attacks.


Rohit Sharma becomes first player to score 3500 runs in T201 matches

  • Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has become the first batter in T20ls to register 3,500 runs.
  • Rohit achieved this feat during a match against Hong Kong in the ongoing Asia Cup in Dubai.
  • New Zealand’s Martin Guptill with 3497 runs and Virat Kohli with 3,343 runs are placed in second and third positions respectively.

Apeksha Fernandes becomes 1st Indian woman to reach WJS Championships final

  • Apeksha Fernandes has become the first Indian woman to reach the final of the World Junior Swimming Championships.
  • She finished 8th in the 200m women’s category event.
  • Fernandes clocked her ‘Best Indian Time’ of 2:18.18 to qualify for the final.
  • The 8th World Junior Swimming Championships is held in Lima, Peru.

  • Ministry of Women and Child Development is celebrating the 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 across the nation from 1st till 30th September 2022.
  • Every year the Poshan Maah is celebrated under POSHAN Abhiyaan (PM’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment), which was launched in 2018 in Rajasthan.
  • In 2022, the key focus of the Poshan Maah is on “Mahila aur Swasthya” and “Bacha aur Shiksha”.
