Q.1. Which state government has recently launched the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sikho Kamao Yojana’ scheme for unemployed youth?
The Madhya Pradesh state cabinet has given its approval to a new scheme called ‘Mukhyamantri Sikho Kamao Yojana’ (Chief Minister Learn and Earn Scheme), aimed at providing opportunities for unemployed youth in the state.
Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Sikho Kamao Yojana,’ the government plans to offer training in around 700 different types of work across various sectors.
These sectors include engineering, hotel management, tourism, travel, hospital services, ITI, software development, banking, insurance, accounting, chartered accountancy, financial services, industries, and the MSME industry.
The wide range of options allows the youth to choose fields aligned with their interests and aptitudes.
All the youth who have done 12th pass, ITI, Diploma, Graduation and Post Graduation will be eligible for this scheme.
After the training, the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) certificate will be given by the Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Generation Board (MPSSDEGB).
Prestigious industrial and private institutions of the country and the state will be connected with the scheme.
Establishments will be able to train student trainees up to 15 percent of their total workforce.
Under the scheme, 12th passed trainees will be given 8 thousand rupees, ITI passed 8 thousand 500 rupees, diploma passed 9 thousand rupees and graduate passed or higher educational qualification will be given 10 thousand rupees per month stipend.

The second meeting of the G-20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group (DRRWG) will be held in Mumbai, Maharashtra from May 23 to 25.
The three-day event, scheduled from May 23-25, aims to discuss key priority areas such as early warning systems, resilient infrastructure, national and international response, building back better, and nature-based solutions.
The decision to host the DRRWG meeting in Mumbai, a city familiar with heavy rainfall challenges, highlights India’s commitment to disaster risk reduction.
The catastrophic floods in July 2005 serve as a constant reminder of the need to bolster preparedness and implement effective measures.

Primarily to meet the currency requirement of the economy in an expeditious manner after the withdrawal of legal tender status of all ₹500 and ₹1000 banknotes in circulation at that time.
₹2000 currency note will remain legal tender after 30th September too. RBI expects that 4 month time is enough for people to exchange notes with the banks.
Most of the ₹2000 notes that are in circulation will return to banks within the given time frame of 30th September.
The objective of introducing ₹2000 banknotes was met once banknotes in other denominations became available in adequate quantities.
