Surajpur district, Chhattisgarh, achieved a milestone by declaring 75 village panchayats as Child Marriage-Free Panchayats during the launch of the Healthy Women, Empowered Families campaign and National Nutrition Month.

The recognition came after no child marriage cases were reported in these panchayats for the past two years, showcasing the success of consistent awareness and reform efforts.

The achievement was driven by the Women and Child Development Department, which conducted awareness drives, engaged Anganwadi workers, panchayat representatives, and voluntary groups, fostering a societal shift toward education, health, and empowerment over child marriage.

Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) and Oil India Limited (OIL) signed an MoU to collaborate on the exploration and development of critical and strategic minerals, including copper and associated minerals.

HCL, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Mines, focuses on mining, production, and processing of copper, while OIL, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has diversified into minerals to complement its core energy business.

The collaboration is aligned with the National Critical Mineral Mission and is expected to strengthen India’s mineral security, energy security, and industrial growth.

Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Adamya’, the first of the eight Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessels, was commissioned into the Indian Coast Guard at Paradip Port, Odisha.

The 51-meter vessel, designed and built indigenously by Goa Shipyard Limited, showcases ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ with over 60% indigenous content, strengthening India’s maritime capabilities.

ICGS Adamya features two 3000 KW diesel engines, a top speed of 28 knots, endurance of 1500 nm, and is the first ship equipped with indigenously developed Controllable Pitch Propellers and gearboxes for superior manoeuvrability and performance at sea.

He is the first recipient of this prestigious award, recognizing his decades-long contributions to diabetes healthcare, research, education, training, charity, awareness, and policy in India.

Dr. Mohan’s work includes the ICMR-INDIAB national study, pioneering research in monogenic diabetes, precision medicine, nutrition, and the Chunampet Rural Diabetes Prevention model, with over 1,800 publications, thousands of trained professionals, and 25,000+ free diabetes camps benefiting millions across India.

R&I projects India’s GDP growth to remain in the mid-6% range from FY26 onwards, supported by population growth, rising incomes, public investment, and effective economic policies, while the government aims for a fiscal deficit of 4.4% of GDP in FY26.

Sairam was chosen after interviews with 10 other applicants, including CMDs of MECL and CCL. The final appointment awaits formal procedures and approval by authorities.

With 34+ years of coal sector experience, Sairam brings expertise in mine planning, operations, sustainable mining, logistics, and digitisation—key for tackling challenges like boosting domestic production and improving coal evacuation to reduce import reliance.
