Awarded by the ministry of commerce and industry the winner was chosen through a voting system that was conducted by the department for the promotion of industry and internal trade (under the commerce ministry).
In 2010 the Hyderabadi Haleem was first accorded GI status. It established that no other city/state could make or market Haleem as Hyderabadi Haleem. While this expired in December 2019.
The renewed GI status is now valid for 10 years.
Other Telangana items that were accorded GI tag include Nirmal toys and crafts, Nirmal Paintings, Gadwal sari, and Banaganapalle Mangoes.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has launched a one-time property tax amnesty scheme “SAMRIDDHI 2022-23”.
It will provide a major relief to lakhs of residential and commercial property owners in the city.
SAMRIDDHI (Strengthening and Augmentation of Municipal Revenue for Infrastructure Development in Delhi) started on Oct 26 and will end on March 31, 2023.
Under the scheme, residential property owners can pay just the principal property tax amount of the current and of the past 5 years.
The aim behind the launch of this scheme is to solve pending court cases, which are a source of consternation for citizens as well as the MCD since 2004.
This will also make property owners a partner in the revenue generation efforts of the MCD, which will help the civic body build better infrastructure and provide efficient municipal service to the public.

The CWC and the JJB members should ensure that the society follows the laws in connection with the children and to make sure that those children who violate law are transformed into model citizens.

The European Parliament has awarded the people of Ukraine its annual Sakharov prize for freedom of thought to honour their fight against Russia’s invasion.
The prize money of €50,000 (£43,560), which will be distributed to representatives of Ukrainian civil society.
The prize was named after the late Soviet dissident Andrei Sakharov.
This awarded annually since 1988 to individuals and organizations defending human rights and freedoms.
The award marked the second time in as many years that EU lawmakers used the Sakharov prize to send a message to the Kremlin. Imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny won it last year.
