Mumbai’s Coastal Road Becomes India’s First ‘Musical Path’ Playing ‘Jai Ho’
- Mumbai’s Coastal Road becomes India’s first ‘musical path’, featuring special rumble strips that play the Oscar-winning song ‘Jai Ho’ when vehicles drive at 60–80 kmph.
- The stretch, named ‘Sangeet Marg’, runs from Nariman Point to Worli, and was inaugurated by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde.
- Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated this is the fifth musical road in the world, with prior examples in Hungary, Japan, South Korea, and the UAE.
- Signboards have been installed at 500 m, 100 m, and 60 m before the stretch to alert motorists about the upcoming musical experience and required speed.

Delhi Launches Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana for Girls from Economically Weaker Families
- Delhi government launches Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana from April 1 to provide financial assistance to girls from economically weaker families, aiming to reduce school dropouts and build a savings cushion for higher education or adulthood.
- The scheme offers staged deposits totalling ₹56,000 over the girl’s education journey, which, with accrued interest, is expected to grow to around ₹1 lakh, credited to an Aadhaar-enabled bank account in the girl’s name.
- Phased payments are linked to key school milestones: ₹11,000 at birth, ₹5,000 at Class 1, and additional deposits at Classes 6, 9, 10, 12, and post-graduation/diploma, incentivizing families to keep girls enrolled through higher education.
Delhi Becomes First State to Partner with Bharat Taxi’s Cooperative Platform for Structured Urban Taxi Services
- Delhi becomes the first Indian state to partner with Bharat Taxi’s cooperative platform, aiming to provide safe, reliable, and transparent urban taxi services while enhancing the income security and welfare of drivers.
- A MoU was signed between Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) and Sahkar Taxi Cooperative Limited to roll out technology-enabled, structured taxi services across the city.
- Under the partnership, DTTDC will focus on driver training, soft skills, and sensitisation to Delhi’s culture, while Bharat Taxi will provide mobility services through a digital booking system and organised driver network, positioning drivers as brand ambassadors for Delhi Tourism.

- The survey shows the state’s contribution to the national economy rising from 8.6% in 2016-17 to 9.1% in 2024-25.
- UP’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) grew at an average annual rate of 10.8%, increasing from ₹13.30 lakh crore in 2016-17 to ₹30.25 lakh crore in 2024-25, and is projected to reach ₹36 lakh crore in 2025-26.

Rajasthan Emerges as India’s Largest Wool Producer, Contributing 47.5% of National Output
- Rajasthan has become India’s largest wool producer, with a production of 16,013.50 thousand kg, contributing 47.5% of the country’s total wool output, followed by Jammu & Kashmir (7,770 thousand kg) and Karnataka (6,472 thousand kg).
- As per Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics 2024-25, India has the second-largest sheep population in the world (77.4 million) and ranks ninth globally in total wool production, with 33.69 million kg produced in FY 2023-24.
- On the global scale, China remains the top wool producer, dominating with 367.5 thousand tonnes, far ahead of other countries.

Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission signs MoUs to strengthen drug safety and quality standards
- Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) signs MoUs with Goa State Pharmacy Council (GSPC), Quality Council of India (QCI), and HLL Infra Tech Services Limited (HITES) to strengthen medicine safety, quality assurance, and capacity building across India.
- The agreements aim to enhance pharmacovigilance, promote rational medicine use, improve pharmacists’ professional competencies, and advance healthcare quality and patient safety standards.
- Under the MoU with Goa State Pharmacy Council, IPC will focus on strengthening ADR reporting, promoting the National Formulary of India, conducting training and workshops for pharmacists, and establishing robust pharmacovigilance and drug safety systems.

- Seventeen-year-old Aditya Pandya becomes India’s youngest male analog astronaut after successfully completing a lunar-habitat-inspired analog mission conducted by AAKA Space Studio in Dholavira, Kutch.
- The mission simulated Moon-like isolation, autonomous operations, and long-duration confinement, with a four-member crew living in a container-based lunar analog habitat, focusing on human–machine interaction and system reliability.
- Aditya Pandya also served as lead for hardware, IoT, and habitat intelligence systems, developing and integrating environmental sensors, biometric monitoring, real-time telemetry, and modular components via 3D printing and rapid prototyping.

India Rises to 91st Position in Corruption Perceptions Index 2025
- India climbs five places to 91st position on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2025, showing a modest improvement in public sector integrity, as per Transparency International.
- India’s CPI score increased by one point, moving from 96th to 91st out of 182 countries and territories, on a scale of 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).
- Top-ranking countries include Denmark (1st, 89 points), Finland, and Singapore, while the lowest-ranking countries are South Sudan and Somalia (9 points). Among major democracies, the UK is 20th and the USA 29th, highlighting global concerns about anti-corruption performance.

ADB Approves $182 Million to Boost Flood and Erosion Management Along Brahmaputra in Assam
- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved $182 million in additional financing to strengthen flood and riverbank erosion management along the Brahmaputra River in Assam, enhancing disaster preparedness in Northeast India.
- With this funding, the ongoing $200 million climate-resilience project (approved in 2023) now reaches a total scale of nearly $487 million, including contributions from the state government.
