Exp. The former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Shri K.Kamaraj ji’s 117th birth anniversary has been observed as Tamil Nadu’s Educational Development Day. it aims to remind people about his contribution to boost the school education facilities of Tamil Nadu state. he was known as “King Maker”.

In the year 2006, The Tamil Nadu state Govt brought a development and celebration bill that highlighted 15th july as “Educational Development Day” in order to remember Perunthalaivar Kamarajar’s contributions.

Exp. Telangana Police on 15th July launched a month-long virtual awareness campaign ‘CybHER’ in the wake of cybercrime against the women and children in the state.

Exp. India ‘Air bubbles’ formed with US, France & Germany. Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced that India is to resume operation of international commercial flights with France and US.

The Government of India has signed agreements with US, UK, France and countries in UAE. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has planned to bring down the air travel charges by 25%.

About: Under the agreements signed with the countries, United Airlines and Delta are to operation from the US. The Air France is to operate from France. No UK based airlines are to operate to India. Rather, Air India will fly to UK. Lufthansa of Germany will operate from Germany.

Exp. India and Israel signed agreements to expand their collaboration in dealing with cyber threats. The agreement was signed between Director General of Israel’s National Cyber Directorate (INCD) and India’s Ambassador to Israel Sanjeev Singla.

The agreement lays down cooperation in capacity building and mutual exchange of best practices in the field.

Exp. The Union Health Ministry has pushed for an increased expenditure on public health. In a meeting with the 15th Finance Commission, the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, on 15th July highlighted that the government aims at gradually increasing the public health expenditure to 2.5 per cent of the nation’s GDP by the year 2025.

The Minister asserted that the outlay for primary health expenditure will also be made nearly two third of the total public health expenditure in the country. Reiterating the government’s target of the National Health Policy 2017, Dr. Vardhan emphasized on the importance of increasing the state’s health sector spending to nearly 8 per cent of their total budget.

Exp. Credit rating agency Icra on 17th July sharply revised its forecast on the contraction in the Indian economy to 9.5 per cent for 2020-21 from its earlier assessment of (-)5%.

Exp. Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the new Chairman of HCL Technologies, the company announced in a regulatory filing on 17th July. The 38-year-old succeeds her father Shiv Nadar.

Earlier, she was the Executive Director and the CEO of HCL Enterprise. Roshni is the only child of HCL’s founder, Shiv Nadar. In 2019, she was ranked 54th on the Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list. According to IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List (2019), Roshni Nadar is the richest woman in India.

Exp. The Committee to Protect Journalists has announced that the recipients of the 2020 International Press Freedom Awards include Shahidul Alam from Bangladesh, Mohammad Mosaed from Iran, Dapo Olorunyomi from Nigeria and Svetlana Prokopyeva from Russia.

All four journalists have faced arrests or criminal prosecution in reprisal for their reporting.

Exp. IOC postpones 2022 Youth Olympic Games to 2026. The postponement of Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Dakar, Senegal in 2022 allows the IOC, the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and the International Federations (IFs) to plan their activities in a better way.

The reason for postponing the YOG in 2022 is because of the numerous operational challenges, which the IOC, NOC and IFs are facing due to the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics, 2020 to 2021.
