♦Maharashtra govt approves proposal to rename Mumbai Central station after Nana Shankarsheth

• Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government has approved a proposal to rename Mumbai Central station as “Nana Shankarsheth Mumbai Central Railway Station”.
• After receiving approval from the Maharashtra government, the proposal to rename the station will now be sent to the Railway Ministry. Jagannath “Nana” Shankarsheth (1803-1865) was a Maharashtrian philanthropist and educationist famous for his contribution to Mumbai’s development. Seth is also known for his contribution towards the Victoria Terminus station, now known as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.

♦IDFC First Bank names Amitabh Bachchan as its brand ambassador

• IDFC First Bank has announced Amitabh Bachchan as its first ever brand ambassador.
• Bachchan’s personality resonates IDFC First’s brand persona and values pillars, that of sincerity, humility and contemporariness.
• IDFC First Bank was founded as a new entity by the merger of IDFC Bank and Capital First on December 18, 2018.

♦Cavinkare appointed Akshay Kumar, Ileana D’Cruz as brand ambassadors for Indica hair colour

• Fast-moving consumer goods firm CavinKare Pvt Ltd announced the appointment of Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz as the brand ambassadors for its hair colour brand Indica.

• Already among the greatest on the golf course, Tiger Woods will join them in the World Golf Hall of Fame.
• Woods was elected on 11^th March to be part of the 2021 induction class, a decision with as much suspense as a tap-in. Woods shares the PGA Tour record with 82 career victories, and his 15 majors are second only to Jack Nicklaus. He has 11 other victories in tours around the world, including Europe, Japan, Asia and Australia.

♦Veteran Bengali actor Santu Mukhopadhyay passes away

• Veteran Bengali actor Santu Mukhopadhyay who was known for his works in films such as ”Sansar Simante” and ”Bhalobasa Bhalobasa” died. Mukhopadhyay, who was 69.
