Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddav Thackeray launched “Maha Awas Yojana”. The project aims to build 8.82 lakhs of rural houses in 100 days. The project includes construction of toilets as well. The cost of the project has been estimated as Rs 4,000 crores.
Aims: The main objective of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is to help rural people Below the Poverty Line in construction of dwelling units. The beneficiaries of the scheme are chosen from Socio-Economic Caste Census, 2011. It includes urban poor living in slums as well.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, participated in the 15th G20 Summit convened by Saudi Arabia, on 21-22 November, 2020.
The Summit, which saw participation of respective Heads of State/ Government of 19 member countries, EU, other invited countries and international organizations, was conducted in virtual format in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Summit under Saudi Presidency centered on the theme “Realizing Opportunities of 21st Century for All”.

Mastercard and United States Agency for International Development launched “Project Kirana” On November 19, 2020. The programme will enable women entrepreneurs to grow, launch and thrive.
Aims: Under Project Kirana, a two-year programme is to be rolled out in selected cities such as Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh. The project will work to increase revenue, digital payments and expand financial inclusion. The project aims to build digital literacy and financial literacy of the women in the state. It will improve business management skills of women.

Barclays has revised down its GDP forecast for India in the current fiscal year 2020-21 (FY21) to – 6.4% from its earlier estimate of – 6%.
However, Barclays has raised its FY22 (2021-22) growth forecast to 8.5 per cent from 7 per cent.

In a series of proposals, an Internal Working Group (IWG) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recommended the guarded entry of corporates into the banking space, conversion of big NBFCs into banks and hike in promoters’ stake to 26% from 15%. The group also proposed a hike in minimum capital for new banks from Rs 500 crore to Rs 1,000 crore.
“The cap on promoters’ stake in the long run — 15 years — may be raised from the current level of 15 per cent to 26 per cent of the paid-up voting equity share capital of the bank,” the group proposed.
The committee, headed by PK Mohanty, has said “large corporates and industrial houses may be allowed as promoters of banks only after necessary amendments to the Banking Regulation Act, 1949” and strengthening of the supervisory mechanism for large conglomerates, including consolidated supervision. This is to prevent connected lending and exposures between the banks and other financial and non-financial group entities, it added.
