Telangana launches Dharani portal for land and property registration

  • Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao launched first of its kind Dharani Portal at Muduchintalapalli village in Medchal-Malkajgiri. The portal will be used to store land records and for property registrations digitally.
  • Thus, the need  for a human interface and eliminating the scope for graft will be abolished. The application would prove to be a revolutionary system in the Revenue and Registration departments.

Microsoft & NSDC tie-up to empower 1 lakh women with digital skills

  • Microsoft has collaborated with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to impart digital skills to more than one lakh underserved women in India over the next ten months. This initiative is an extension of Microsoft’s partnership with NSDC to provide digital skills to over 1 lakh youth in the country.
  • Aims: The programme will curate a series of live training sessions and digital skilling drives to help create opportunities for young girls and women, particularly first-time job seekers and those whose jobs may have been impacted by Covid-19, to join the future workforce.

IndusInd Bank first bank to go live on RBI’s 'Account Aggregator Framework'

  • IndusInd Bank announced that it has gone live as a ‘Financial Information Provider’ (FIP) under the new ‘Account Aggregator Framework’ of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), making it the first bank in the country to do so.
  • Benefit: Customers can now avail a host of benefits such as viewing statements of their accounts, track deposits, plan investments (such as shares, mutual funds, Insurance, EPF, PPF), avail credit cards, etc. on a single window, thereby empowering them to take informed decisions pertaining to their finances.

Yashvardhan K. Sinha appointed as new Chief Information Commissioner

  • Government of India has approved the name of Former Foreign Service officer, Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha as the new Chief Information Commissioner.
  • Sinha was sworn in as information commissioner in the CIC on January 1, 2019. A former diplomat, Sinha has served as high commissioner of India to the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka.
  • His predecessor Bimal Julka had completed his tenure as Chief Information Commissioner on August 26.
