ELECRAMA 2025: The world’s largest electrical show announced by IEEMA

Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) has recently announced the 16th edition of ELECRAMA, the world’s largest electrical show. The event is scheduled to be held from 22nd February to 26th February 2025 in New Delhi. Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers Association is the apex Institute in India for the Manufacturers of electrical and industrial Electronics including applied equipment.

Theme of ELECRAMA 2025:

The theme of ELECRAMA show 2025 is “Reimagining Energy for a Sustainable Future”.

More about ELECRAMA:

One of the major aims of the ELECRAMA 2025 is to strengthen cooperation and collaboration for moving ahead to achieve a greener, sustainable and more resilient energy ecosystem. Many prominent personalities such as industry leaders,policymakers and stakeholders will be hosted by the ELECRAMA 2025 to embrace new cutting edge Innovation, New emerging trends and solutions for the betterment of the energy sector.

Significance:

According to the Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri R. K. Singh India has done great in the energy sector by adding about 200 gw of generation capacity in the past 9 years. He further stated that the India is now capable of transferring 1,16,000 MW from a part of India to another country.

Energy Sector Reforms:

India has undertaken significant energy sector reforms to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and accessibility. Some major reforms include:

  • Amendments to the Electricity Act aimed at promoting competition, efficiency, and sustainability in the power sector. These reforms include the introduction of open access, encouraging renewable energy integration, and strengthening regulatory mechanisms.
  • India has set ambitious renewable energy targets, aiming to achieve 500 GW by 2030. This involves various policy initiatives, incentives, and regulatory measures to promote renewable energy deployment.
  • Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY): Launched in 2015, UDAY aims to improve the financial health of state-owned power distribution companies (DISCOMs) by reducing their debt burden, improving operational efficiencies, and promoting energy conservation.

Initiatives like Perform, Achieve, and Trade (PAT) scheme and the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) aim to enhance energy efficiency across the country.
