First time, India has set up its pavilion at World Hydrogen Summit 2024
India has set up its maiden pavilion at the World Hydrogen Summit 2024. This is the first time when India has organized one of the biggest pavilions at the Summit. The Indian pavilion was set up by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India.
The Indian pavilion was inaugurated by Shri Bhupinder S. Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
World Hydrogen Summit 2024:
World Hydrogen Summit 2024 was scheduled to be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, during May 13 – 15, 2024. This is the main event highlighting the best practices and challenges in the global green ecosystem.
There are around 15,000 delegates across the world who have come and joined the World Hydrogen Summit 2024.
Indian delegation:
India has also sent its delegation at World Hydrogen Summit 2024 to highlight the progress of the country towards Green hydrogen. The Indian delegation comprised members from the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and from private sector companies as well.
National Green Hydrogen Mission:
One of the ambitious missions of India to achieve sustainable energy developments, the National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched in January 2023. The total outlay of the mission was around Rs. 19,744 crores.
Objective:
To achieve a green hydrogen production capacity of 5 MMT by the end of 2030.
Conclusion:
Green hydrogen is crucial for transitioning to a sustainable energy future. It’s produced through electrolysis using renewable energy sources, making it carbon-neutral. It has immense potential for decarbonizing industries like transportation, heating, and manufacturing, contributing to global efforts to combat climate change.
