Government launch ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ incentive scheme

The government is going to launch the ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ invoice incentive scheme that offers cash prize from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 crore from September 1. The Government of India will start the incentive scheme with six states and Union Territories initially.

Aim of the scheme:

The main aim of the scheme is to motivate customers to ask for a bill every time they make purchases and they can also earn cash prizes on upload of GST invoices.

As per the official information received by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), the scheme is going to be launched in the states of Assam, Gujarat and Haryana and the UTs of Puducherry, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

All invoices issued by Goods and Services Tax (GST) registered suppliers to consumers will be eligible for the ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ scheme.

Prizes under the scheme:

Under the scheme the draw of lots will be happened by monthly and quarterly and winners will be eligible for cash reward prize beginning from Rs 10,000 to up to Rs 1 crore.

Under the scheme, the minimum value of Rs. 200 of the invoice will be taken in consideration for lucky draw and individuals will be allowed to upload a maximum of 25 invoices in a month beginning September 1.

Mobile App:

The mobile app for the ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ is also planned for availing to beneficiaries in both IOS and android platforms.

All the required details like GSTIN of the seller, invoice number, amount paid and tax amount are mandatory for uploading the invoice on the app.

The concept of the scheme is designed to incentivize citizens and consumers to ask for genuine invoices from the seller when making business-to-consumer (B2C) purchase of goods or services.
