Eligibility Criteria 2025:
To be eligible for the HPRCA JBT Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet specific educational and age requirements.
Educational Qualification
- 10+2 with 50% marks or Senior Secondary with 50% marks from a recognized Board of School Education.
- A 2-year Junior Basic Teacher’s (JBT) course or a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) from an institute affiliated with the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE).
- Alternatively, candidates with a Senior Secondary qualification with at least 45% marks and a 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. in accordance with NCTE Regulations, 2002 are also eligible.
- A 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) after Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks is another valid qualification.
- Candidates with a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) after Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks can also apply.
- A Graduation degree combined with a 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. is also acceptable.
- A Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks and a three-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed. is also a valid qualification.
- Crucially, all candidates must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the HP Board of School Education or another authorized agency.
- A relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks for both educational qualifications and TET is available for candidates from SC/ST/OBC and PWD categories.
Experience
The official notification does not specify any prior experience as a mandatory requirement for the Junior Basic Teacher position.
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 18 and 47 years of age as of January 1, 2025.

HPRCA JBT Salary and Benefits:
The position of Junior Basic Teacher (JBT) under the HPRCA recruitment comes with an attractive financial package. The selected candidates will be appointed as Job Trainees with a fixed monthly remuneration of ₹17,820. This amount is calculated as 60% of the first cell of the applicable pay level in the pay matrix, as per the H.P. Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2022.

Upon successful completion of the training period, the JBTs will be placed in a regular pay scale. - Dearness Allowance (DA): This is a cost of living adjustment allowance and is revised periodically based on the inflation rate.
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): This allowance is provided to meet the cost of renting accommodation and varies based on the city of posting.
- Transport Allowance (TA): This is provided to cover travel expenses between home and the place of work.
- Other Benefits: As government employees, JBTs are also entitled to benefits under the National Pension System (NPS), medical facilities, and other perks as per the rules of the Himachal Pradesh government.

HPRCA JBT Selection Process 2025:
The selection process for the HPRCA JBT Recruitment 2025 is designed to be a single-stage examination to assess the candidates’ knowledge and aptitude.
Tier 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
The primary stage of the selection process is a Computer Based Test (CBT) or a written screening test. This test will be of 100 marks and will have a duration of two hours. The test will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying half a mark. The subjects covered in the test are:
- Subject(s)/field(s) concerned: This section will have 140 questions based on the essential qualifications for the JBT post.
- General Knowledge: This section will comprise 60 questions covering General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, Logic, Social Science, General English, and General Hindi of the Matric standard.
