Important details of ‘Operation True Promise’

Operation True Promise is a response of Iran to the Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy on 1st April 2024 as claimed by Iran’s revolutionary guards and it is a strategy to give punishment to Israel for its actions as per the Iranian government.

Under the Operation True Promise, Iran has launched a significant drone attack using ‘Shaheed’ drones and cruise missiles to attack Israel.

Resona behind:

The Iranian embassy in Damascus faced a severe attack on 1sr April 2024 and the attack proved as an escalation point of the ongoing war spreading across West Asia since 7th October 2023.

According to Iran, Israel was behind the attack although Israel doesn’t confirm that he was behind the attack. Moreover, the Israeli government neither denies the claim. The attack caused severe casualties as 13 Iranian including Mohammed Reza Zahedi who was the top Commander in charge of the Quds forces Syria operation, were killed during the attack.

If we go back a little further, Razi Mousavi, senior Adviser in Iran’s Islamic revolutionary Guard corps in Syria, was killed in a suspected Israeli strike on 25th December. The April attack on the Iranian embassy was different from previous Israeli strikes as this time an Iranian embassy was targeted.

Under the International laws, the diplomatic institutions and premises have the protected status.

As an example ,in 1999, when the US was accused of an attack on the Chinese embassy, the then US president Bill Clinton issued an apology in public stating that the attack happened by accident. Many people in Iran measure this attack as the starting point of a war.

Many incidents happened before the Hamas attack on 7th October 2023, between Iran and Israel, but these war-like events were always in shadow. An open war between Iran and Israel could become a disaster for the whole world and the dragging of the US in this war could also become a nightmare for the economy of the entire world.

Current scenario:

After Iran’s attack on Israel, Israel made sure to intercept and destroy any Iranian drones and air attacks that came into its space by positioning the air defense system of Jordan.

Many flights have been canceled due to security measures. The most affected areas are Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Milan, Bucharest, Sofia, Athens, Dubai, and Moscow due to cancellation of flights.

According to Israel, around 99% of Iranian air attacks have been nullified and intercepted by Israel and with the help of its alliance such as the US and UK.

These air strikes under the Operation True Promise, Iran showcased its intentions and achieved its target of sending a strong message to Israel without causing any damage to Israel.
