After a month long battle of political parties and army of the Pakistan, the Pakistan government on Sunday released a notification which declaring that Imran Khan is no longer holds the position of Prime Minister of the country. It was released after the no confidence vote in assembly against current Pakistan PM Imran Khan.
Pakistan President Arif Alvi earlier dismissed the National Assembly (NA) on advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri disapproved a no-confidence motion against the premier, who had effectively lost the majority in the 342-member lower house of Parliament.
Meanwhile, the opposition announced PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif as the prime minister with support of 195 members.
Collateral upon the dissolution of Pakistan Assembly by the President of Pakistan in terms of Article 58(1) read with Article 48(1) of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan vide Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, dated 3rd April 2022, Mr Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi terminated to hold the office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, with immediate effect.
Action by Supreme Court:
After the dismissal of the no-trust vote in the Pakistan’s National Assembly against embattled Prime Minister Imran Khan and the succeeding dissolution of the House, the Supreme Court Sunday barred all state institutions to take any “unconstitutional” steps or process.
Imran Khan to be PM for 15 days more:
Hours after dissolving former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Sunday informed media that the former cricketer-turned-politician might be in power for another 15 days.
Fresh election in Pakistan:
Imran Khan addressed the nation after the dismissal of no-confidence motion in Parliament and asked for fresh elections in the country.
