India becomes the first country to landed on the south pole of the moon

India created history with successfully soft landing on the south pole of the moon with its dream mission called ‘Chandrayaan-3’. After landing successfully India became the only fourth nation to touch the lunar surface after the USA, Russia, and China and joined the elite club.

India is the first and only country in the world to reach the south pole of the moon.

Congratulation by ISRO chief:

ISRO chief S Somanath has congratulated the people of the country on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission and said, “Indian is on the moon”.

S Somanath officially informed the people of the country that Chandrayaan-3 lander module Vikram made a safe and soft landing on the Moon.

ISRO chief also thanked all to support them and stated that the next 14 days from now for Chandrayaan-3.

The scientists and officials at India’s space agency ISRO headquarters in Bengaluru uttered with applause after the Vikram began its powered vertical descent towards its landing site.

Speech of Prime Minister of India:

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has congratulated the ISRO team and every Indian on the success of Chandrayaan-3.

The Prime Minister is attending the 15th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He witnessed the live telecast of soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 and sported a big smile and waved the tricolour.

ISRO’s scientist team behind the mission:

Chairman of ISRO: S. Somanath:

• S Somanath is an accomplished aerospace engineer.
• He is the Chairman of ISRO since 2022.
• He played a pivotal role in crafting the design of the Launch Vehicle Mark-3, or the Bahubali rocket, which launched Chandrayaan-3 into orbit.

Education: B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from TKM College of Engineering, asters degree (M. Tech) in Aerospace Engineering from IIS (Indian Institute of Science) in Bangalore

Project Director: P Veeramuthuvel:

• P Veeramuthuvel is the overall project director of Chandraayan-3.
• He also serves as the space infrastructure programme officer at ISRO.

Education: He earned degree from Indian Institute of Madras (IIT-M)

Mission Director: S Mohana Kumar:

• S Mohana Kumar is the Mission Director for Chandrayaan-3.
• He was the man behind the official announcement of the launch of the spacecraft from Sriharikota Space Center on July 14.
• Mohana Kumar is a part of ISRO for more than 30 years.

Deputy Project Director: Kalpana K:

• She served her duty as the deputy project director for the lunar mission in Chandrayaan-3.
• Kalpana K, an engineer, had also worked in Chandrayaan-2 and Mangalyaan.

These above mentioned great humans have played the most important role in success of Chandrayaan-3 mission. There are many other scientists who also played important role in Chandrayaan-3 mission.
