India celebrating 14 September as Hindi Diwas
We the people in India are celebrating Hindi Diwas today on September 14. India celebrates National Hindi Diwas or Hindi Day to promote Hindi as the ‘Matra Bhasha’ or the mother tongue of India on 14th September every year. The day is celebrated to give importance to Hindi and its cultural heritage among the people of the country and abroad.
All India Official Language Conference:
The all India official language conference is being hosted in Surat, Gujarat. Union Home minister Amit Shah has set to attend the all India official language conference.
On the occasion of Hindi Diwas Amit Shah has highlighted the significance of the Hindu language in ‘uniting’ the nation. He also stated that the Modi government was committed to the development of all local Indian languages, including Hindi.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated India on Hindi Diwas and stated that India has brought special honor globally and that its simplicity and sensitivity always attract people.
History about Hindi Diwas:
On September 14, 1949, the Constituent Assembly had declared that Hindi which is written in the Devanagari script is the India’s official language.
India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru announced the day as Hindi Diwas to mark the significant date.
The Constituent Assembly of India had adopted Hindi as the official language of the country on September 14, 1949 under Article 343.
Many cultural festivals are held on Hindi Diwas every year to honour Hindi literature and to show gratitude and respect toward the Hindi language.
Rajbhasha Puraskar on Hindi Diwas:
On Hindi Diwas, the government ministries, departments, PSUs, banks, and citizens receive awards like the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar and the Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar for their contributions to the Hindi language.
The idea behind it is that to popularize Hindi as a spoken and written language and take pride in Hindi as Indian citizens.
