International Purple Festival 2024 started in Goa

To celebrate the global inclusivity and empowerment, one of the most awaited promising International events, International Purple Fest 2024 is held in Goa from 8th January to 13th January 2024.

International Purple Festival is organized by State Commissioner’s Office for Persons with Disabilities, collaborated with the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa, and also supported by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India in D.B. grounds, Campal, Panaji, Goa.

Key personalities in the event:

Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, attended the International Purple Fest as the Chief Guest. Shri. Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment served as the Guest of Honour in the promising International Purple Fest  and also other notable personalities such as Shri. Vishwajit Rane, Minister of Health, and Shri. Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Tourism, Ports, and Waterways, among others attended the International Purple Fest 2024.

Objective of the International Purple Fest:

The greatest aim of the ongoing International Purple Festival is to encourage the talents of the Person with Disabilities by showcasing their capabilities through the various engaging performances such as music, dance, entertainment and some other activities.

There was also an arrangement of the standout Purple Anthem in the opening ceremony named Dhumal performed by Persons with Disabilities from across Goa and with the support of the Indian music industry.

There is also an arrangement of sports activities and competitions to encourage the capabilities of Persons with Disabilities. To enhance the talents of Persons with Disabilities,  International Purple Fest is organizing interesting and unique games to support people at a global level.

National Summit on Inclusive Education:

National summit on inclusive education also organized in the International Purple Fest 2024 in Goa. The summit was opened by Satish Kapoor, Founder Director at Brotherhood, New Delhi. There were also some key personalities in the summit such as Dr. Sandhya Limaye, Martin Matthew, Taha Haaziq, and Avelino De Sa.

South Asia Workshop on Technology and Inclusive Education:

South Asia Workshop on Technology and Inclusive Education was also the center of attraction in the International Purple Fest 2024. The workshop was chaired by Dr. Brendra Pokharel, Vice President of ICEVI West Asia. The workshop was majorly about the technological Reforms in the education sector.

There is an estimate around 8000 global delegates to attend the International Purple Fest 2024 in Goa. The International Purple Fest 2024 envisages inclusivity and empowerment at the global level. There are many initiatives to bring empowerment and development of the Persons with Disabilities are going to be launched during the event.
