National Conference Of State Tourism: Dharamshala

The National Conference Of State Tourism ministers is going to be held at Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. It will start from 18th September 2022 and will last for three days. This meeting is chaired by tourism minister G. Kishan Reddy. 

This meeting on state tourism will discover new ways to enhance the overall productivity of the policies and schemes launched by states and the centre and evaluate the results of these schemes. It provides an opportunity for direct conversation between state tourism ministers and ministers of tourism from different states. 

Agenda:

Through the national conference of tourism ministers , representatives of the states across the country will share their perspectives and successful schemes and ongoing ideas in the field of tourism. It will help India to conclude new schemes and improve the situation of tourism across the country.

The other members of this conference are such as DG tourism Shri Kamala Vardhana Rao, Shri Ajay Bhatt, Shri Shripad Naik,Shri Nakul Anand. They all will be presented at the conference which is going to be held in Himachal Pradesh.

Tourism minister G. Kishan Reddy praised India’s effort to make its tourism superior and feasible for the economy. Now India has become the 5th largest economy in the world and tourism is the main factor in the surge of the economy. Tourism has witnessed a great expansion for the past few years due to great policies.

He also initiated some new strategies such as four fold development strategy. He established tourism as a main part for the growth of the economy. He said that India will enhance the connectivity of air ,rail and road ways to improve the quality of tourism.

Future endeavours:

There will also be schemes for tourism infrastructure and other related services. These schemes also include branding and promotion to promote tourism across the country. With all of these aspects,this meeting is very important.

He also stated that national tourism policy will be an important part of the next budget session and he will try to implement it before the budget session. He also confirmed the launch of Ambedkar circuit and said it will be launched soon.

He also mentioned that currently India has 140 airports which are giving an uptick to the tourism sector. In 2014, India had only 74 airports. It shows the growth of the tourism industry. He also confirmed that the number of airports will be increased in the future to promote tourism across the country.

A total of 16.91 lakh crore GDP was generated by the tourism sector in the year of 2018 and it was 9.2 percent of the then GDP. Around 42.67 million jobs were initiated and around 8.1 percent total employment grew. 

Conclusion:

Tourism is one of the most important pillars of the Indian economy and the government must take care of that by launching new initiatives and schemes to promote tourism.
