The certification exam conducted by NISM is for security Market executives and other related services. NISM was established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. NISM is managed by the Security and Exchange Board of India, SEBI. NISM examination is also controlled and regulated by SEBI.

NISM Certification Exam

NISM offers certification exams in different fields and levels within the security Market.

Candidates according to their interest and need can opt for any of these NISM exams.

Who is eligible for NISM exam?

The certification exam offered by NISM could be taken by commerce students, security Market members but the NISM exam is also open to anyone who is interested in the security market and mutual funds. Anyone who is wants to learn about the Indian Securities Markets may also take the exam. NISM has not set any eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification or age to appear for the NISM exam.

NISM exam Examination Fees 

For different NISM Certifications there are different examination fees which are in between Rs.1200 – Rs. 3000, depending on the exam the candidate wants to follow.

For example, the “IBBI- Valuation Examination in the Asset Class: Land and Building” Certification Examination costs Rs.1500, including taxes;

or the NISM Series-XIII: Common Derivatives Certification Examination costs Rs. 3000.

NISM Registration Process

NISM offers an easy registration process for the various courses offered.

To appear in any of the NISM exams one has to fill the registration form available on NISM online certification portal. After registration at the NISM portal, the candidates have to fill in other details such as center, specify the exam, date and time slot. And finally, after filing the NISM enrolment form the candidate can appear in the exam.

Here are the steps for registering for NISM exam online:

Step 1: Visit the official NISM website and simply click on the NEW ACCOUNT button.

Step 2: Fill up the Candidate Registration Form by correctly filling up all the (*) asterisk marked sections. The personal information must be filled up correctly, as they will be used on the admit card as well as on the certificate.

Click on SUBMIT button to generate the activation link, after completing the registration form.

Step 3: Once the activation link is sent to the user’s mentioned email ID in the registration form, it is only by clicking on the activation link that the NISM account will be activated. Immediately after the account is activated, the candidate can log in and use the particular registration number for further communication with NISM.
