A micro blogging platform Twitter has just recently named its new Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal after the stepping down Jack Dorsey.
Who is Parag Agrawal?
Parag Agrawal was born in Ajmer, Rajasthan. His family shifter to Mumbai where his father was a senior official in the Indian Department of Atomic Energy and his mother is school teacher (retired).
Educational Background:
He studied at Atomic energy Central School where he won gold medal in International Physics Olympiad held in Turkey in 2001. He did his graduation in B.Tech in Computer Science and done his engineering in IIT Bombay. He went to the USA for pursuing PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Professional Background:
Parag Agrawal has joined the micro blogging company Twitter in 2011 as a software engineer where he was leading efforts on scaling Twitter Ads systems and also reaccelerating audience growth by improving Home timeline relevance.
Prior to joining Twitter, Agrawal was involved with research in large-scale data management with collaborators at Microsoft Research, Yahoo! Research, and AT&T Labs.
He was promoted as Twitter’s Chief Technology Officer in 2017 where he has been accountable to see company’s technical strategy.
Salary & Perks:
Agrawal is supposed to receive an annual salary of USD 1,000,000 as well as participant in the company’s executive bonus plan with a new target bonus of 150 per cent of his annual base salary. He has been given the Offer Letter in December 2021 where the Board will give to new CEO restricted stock units (RSUs) with a grant date face value of USD 12,500,000.

Special Achievement:
New CEO of Twitter Parag Agrawal with the age of 37 years has become the youngest CEO leading an S&P 500 company. Even he is slightly younger than Meta Platform Inc CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Challenges for new CEO:
His appointment has announced at a time when Twitter is going to be aggressive for company’s growth. Earlier this year, the firm declared its target to have 315 million monetisable daily active users by the end of 2023 and also trying more than double its annual revenue by December 2023.
He is going to lead the company’s executive role when it has come under fire from investors for not launching any new monetisable product for years — something that led to the 2023 plan being announced.
