Age Limit & Relaxation:

The upper age limit for applying to PGCIL Recruitment 2025 posts is 29 years as 29 years as on 17.09.2025. However, candidates from reserved categories and certain groups are eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit as per Government of India norms.

PGCIL Salary Structure and Financial Benefits:

POWERGRID offers an attractive remuneration package for both Field Engineers and Field Supervisors. Compensation differs slightly for positions under the RDSS project and other projects, with additional benefits like DA, HRA, perks, medical facilities, leave, and insurance coverage.

PGCIL Field Engineer & Supervisor Selection Process:

The selection process is designed to be fair and merit-based, starting with a common written test for all applicants.

Tier 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

All eligible candidates will first appear for the POWERGRID Common FTE Written Test-2025.

  • Duration: 1 hour.
  • Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
  • Sections:
    • Technical Knowledge Test (50 questions): Based on the B.E./B.Tech/Diploma syllabus of the relevant discipline.
    • Aptitude Test (25 questions): Covers General English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness.
  • Marking Scheme: Each question carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking.
  • Qualifying Marks: Minimum 40% for Unreserved/EWS and 30% for reserved categories.

Tier 2: Post-Test Process

  • For Field Engineer: Candidates who qualify the CBT will be shortlisted for a Personal Interview based on their test performance. The final merit list will be prepared based only on the performance in the interview.
  • For Field Supervisor: Candidates who qualify the CBT will be empaneled directly based on the marks obtained in the written test. Shortlisted candidates will then be called for Document Verification.
