Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a new ambitious scheme towards the development and growth of the country named Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana to install rooftop solar systems on 1 crore households on 22nd January 2024. This announcement has been witnessed by the country during the inauguration day of Ram mandir in Ayodhya.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also directed the citizens to start a national level campaign to promote and encourage the mobilization of residential segment consumers to adopt rooftop solar systems to make the country self-reliant in the energy sector.

Objective:

The main objective of this scheme is to decrease the burden of electricity bills especially to the poor and middle class citizens across the country and to encourage people to take a step away to be self-reliant in the energy sector so that the overall state can witness the optimistic growth and development.

After the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting to discuss the parameters of the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana with the aim of installing rooftop solar on around 1 crore houses in the residential area of Lok Kalyan Marg.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also asserted and described the power of solar energy and how citizens can use the solar power by the rooftop solar systems under the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana and can reduce the electricity bill and become self dependent for their electricity needs.

The poor and middle class citizens will be covered under the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana and through the scheme additional income sources will also be provided for surplus electricity generation.

The process of applications of the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana will soon be started and people can register themselves for the benefits under the scheme through the registration process as soon as it starts.
