PM Narendra Modi visited Egypt
Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to India from his week-long visit to the United States and Egypt with following a series of headline-grabbing moments in New York, Washington DC and Cairo.
Prime Minister’s visit to Egypt was a historic one. This visit has added new energies in relation of India-Egypt and will benefit the people of our nations.
PM Modi honored with ‘Order of Nile’:
PM Modi met the President of Egypt Abdal Fatteh El-Sisi and received ‘Order of Nile’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with Egypt’s highest honour ‘Order of the Nile’ by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the Presidential Palace in Cairo.
The ‘Order of the Nile’ had been instituted in 1915 and it is conferred upon heads of states, crown princes, and vice presidents.
The 13th highest state honor has been given to Prime Minister Modi.
Meeting with Grand Mufti of Egypt:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met the Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr Shawki Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Allam in Cairo on his first State visit to Egypt.
Both leaders discussed on India-Egypt ties, their cultural and people-to-people linkages.
In Cairo Modi visited Heliopolis War Cemetery:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited the Heliopolis Commonwealth War Cemetery in Cairo and offered tributes to the Indian soldiers who bravely fought and laid down their lives in Egypt and Palestine during the First World War.
Visit to historic Al-Hakim Mosque:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also taken a visit to the historic 11th-century Al-Hakim Mosque in Cairo.
This historic Al-Hakim Mosque had been restored with the help of India’s Dawoodi Bohra community.
Indian PM has appreciated the intricate carved inscriptions on the walls and doorways of the mosque which was built in 1012.
Visits Pyramids of Giza:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also toured the great Pyramids of Giza on the outskirts of the Egyptian capital. The great Pyramids of Giza were included in the Seven Wonders of the World.
