Direction (5- 8): There are two rows given and to find out the resultant of a particular row we need to follow the following steps: –
Step 1: If an even number is followed by an odd number then the resultant will be the difference of both the numbers.
Step 2: If an odd number is followed by an even number then the resultant will be the addition of both the numbers.
Step 3: If an odd number is followed by another odd number then the resultant will be the difference of both the numbers.
Step 4: If an even number is followed by another even number then the resultant will be the product of both the numbers.

Q9. Below in each question are given two statements I and II. These statements may be either independent causes or may be effects of independent causes. One of these statements may be the effect of the other statement. Read both the statements and decide which of the following answer choices correctly depicts the relationship between these two statements.
Mark answer

I. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is the main bowler of India got injured during world cup match against Pakistan.
II. India won the world cup match against Pakistan by 89 runs (DLS method.)
1. if statement I is the cause and statement II is its effect.
2. if statement II is the cause and statement I is its effect.
3. if both the statement I and II are independent causes.
4. if both the statements I and II are effects of independent causes.
5. if both the statements I and II are effects of some common cause.
Q10. Below in each question are given two statements I and II. These statements may be either independent causes or may be effects of independent causes. One of these statements may be the effect of the other statement. Read both the statements and decide which of the following answer choices correctly depicts the relationship between these two statements.
Mark answer

I. The prices of packed flour in the domestic market have fallen sharply in the recent month.
II. The Government has imported large quantities of wheat due to high demand of wheat flour.
1. if statement I is the cause and statement II is its effect.
2. if statement II is the cause and statement I is its effect.
3. if both the statement I and II are independent causes.
4. if both the statements I and II are effects of independent causes.
5. if both the statements I and II are effects of some common cause.

Solution

Sol. (1 -4):
A is an immediate neighbour of the one who likes red sits at one of the corners. D sits second to the left of A. B faces the same direction as A and is an immediate neighbour of both F and D. So, we have four possible cases:

E sits second to the left of B. E who faces outside the centre and likes violet so case-1 and case-4 are eliminated. A does not like green and white. D does not like green. The one who likes white sits second to the left of the one who likes green means F likes green and D likes white. B does not like blue means A likes blue. F does not like yellow and blue means B likes yellow. C faces outside the centre. Three of them are facing inside the centre and three are facing outside the centre So case-3 is eliminated. So, the final arrangement is:
Q1. Ans(2)
Q2. Ans(3)
Q3. Ans(5)
Q4. Ans(5)
Q5. Ans(1)
Using step 4 in first row 4*12 = 48
First row becomes = 48 3
Now, applying step 1, the resultant of the first row becomes 48-3= 45
using step 2 in second row 7 + 14 = 21
Second row becomes= 21 10
Now, applying step 2, the resultant of the second row becomes 21 + 10 = 31
So, the difference between the resultant of first row and second row is 45 – 31 = 14
Q6. Ans(3)
Using step 2 in first row 11 + 2 = 13
First row becomes = 13 7
Now, applying step 3, the resultant of the first row becomes 13 -7 = 6
So, the value of X is 6
Second row becomes= 18 6 3
Now, using step 4 in second row 18*6 =108
Second row becomes= 108 3
Now, applying step 1 the resultant of the second row becomes 108-3 = 105
Q7. Ans(1)
Using step 1 in first row 19- 10= 9
First row becomes = 9 16
Now, applying step 2, the resultant of the first row becomes 9+16= 25
using step 2 in second row 23 + 20 = 43
Second row becomes= 43 3
Now, applying step 3, the resultant of the second row becomes 43 – 3 = 40
So, the sum of the resultant of first row and second row is 40 + 25 = 65
Q8. Ans(4)
Using step 4 in second row 14*2=28
Second row becomes = 28 5
Now, applying step 1, the resultant of the second row becomes 28 -5 = 23
So, the value of X is 23
First row becomes= 23 16 19
Using step 2 in first row 23 +16 = 39
First row becomes = 39 19
Now, applying step 3, the resultant of the first row becomes 39-19 =20
So, the difference between the resultant of the two rows is 23– 20 = 3
Q9.Ans(4) Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is the main bowler of India got injured while playing. And India won world-cup due to its brilliant performance So both statement I and statement II are effects of Independent causes.
Q10. Ans(4)
As the fallen of demand may have lead to decrease prices of flour in the market so it is an effect and as the demand is high so the government imported the wheat flour so it is an effect of some cause. So statement II and statement I are effects of independent causes.
