Here is the detailed distribution of vacancies for both Assistant Manager and Executive posts across different streams.

Eligibility Criteria:

Before applying, it’s very important to check if you meet the required eligibility criteria. The cut-off date for age and experience is 1st August 2025.

Educational Qualification

• Assistant Manager (Management): 2 years full-time MBA/MMS or Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Business Management, Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or Finance.
• Assistant Manager (Finance): Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA).
• Assistant Manager (HR/Personnel): 2 years full-time MBA/MMS or Post Graduate Degree/Diploma with specialization in Personnel Management, HRD, HRM, Industrial Relations, or Labour Welfare.
• Assistant Manager (Law): Full-time degree in Law (3 years or 5 years).
• Assistant Manager (Engineering): 4 years full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Information Technology, Fire & Safety, or Naval Architecture.
• Assistant Manager (Company Secretary): Qualified Company Secretary (CS) from ICSI.
• Executive (Finance): 3 years full-time BBA/BMS/Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Finance and/or Accounts.
• Executive (HR/Personnel): 3 years full-time BBA/BMS with specialization in Personnel Management, HRD, HRM, or related fields.
• Executive (Mass Communication): 3 years full-time BBA/BMS/Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication.
• Executive (Hindi): Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree level, or vice-versa. (Refer to the official notification for detailed options).

Note: A minimum of 60% marks is required in the qualifying degree (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).

Experience

• Assistant Manager (E2): A minimum of one year of experience in a related field is desirable.
• Executive (E0): A minimum of one year of post-qualification experience in a related field is mandatory.

• The maximum age for both posts is 27 years as of 1st August 2025.

SCI Assistant Manager Salary and Benefits

A job at SCI comes with a very attractive salary package, making it one of the high-paying government jobs. The salary structure is based on a Pay Scale system. For the Assistant Manager (E2) post, the pay scale is ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000. This means your initial basic pay will be ₹50,000. For the Executive (E0) post, the pay scale is ₹30,000 – ₹1,20,000, with an initial basic pay of ₹30,000.

SCI Assistant Manager Selection Process:

The selection process is designed to be comprehensive and fair, consisting of three main stages. Understanding each stage will help you prepare better.

Stage 1: Online Exam (Computer Based Test)

This is the first and most critical stage. The exam pattern is different for each post.

• For Assistant Manager (E2):
  • Subjects: Core Domain/Professional Knowledge (50 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (10), Logic and Reasoning (10), General Awareness & Current Affairs (10), English Language (10), and Computer Knowledge (10). A Psychometric Test (20 questions) will also be included.
  • Total Questions: 120
  • Maximum Marks: 100
  • Duration: 120 minutes (composite time)
  • Negative Marking: Yes, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in the Core and Aptitude sections.
• For Executive (E0):
  • Subjects: General English (20 marks), General Knowledge (20), Quantitative Aptitude (20), Logical Reasoning (20), and Computer Knowledge (20). A Psychometric Test (20 questions) is also part of the exam.
  • Total Questions: 120
  • Maximum Marks: 100
  • Duration: 120 minutes (composite time)
  • Negative Marking: Yes, 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the Aptitude test.

Stage 2: Group Discussion (GD)

Candidates who clear the online exam will be called for a Group Discussion in a 1:6 ratio (6 candidates for every 1 vacancy). This is an elimination round. You need to score at least 60% in the GD to qualify for the next stage. Your communication skills, knowledge, and ability to work in a team will be tested here.

Stage 3: Personal Interview (PI)

This is the final stage. Candidates who clear the GD will face a Personal Interview. This is also an elimination round where you need to score a minimum of 70%. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined scores of the Online Exam, GD, and Personal Interview with a weightage of 70:10:20 respectively.
