“SMART 2.0” launched by CCRAS and NCISM for Ayurveda Teaching Professionals

SMART 2.0( Scope for Mainstreaming Ayurveda Research among Teaching professionals), a program dedicated to Ayurveda Teaching Professionals, has been jointly launched by The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) and National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).

Objective:

The main objective of SMART 2.0 is to promote effective and robust clinical studies especially in the priority sectors of Ayurveda for Ayurveda Teaching Professionals with the help of Ayurveda academic institutions, Ayurveda hospitals across the country.

This program is implemented by the mutual collaboration of The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) and National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).

More about “SMART 2.0”:

The priority sectors of Ayurveda which comes under the SMART 2.0 initiative are Malnutrition,bal kasa,abnormal uterine bleeding,insufficient lactation,Osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and Diabetes Mellitus (DM) II.

The SMART 2.0 initiative aims to promote safety, tolerance capacity and adherence to priority sectors of Ayurvedic formulations. The SMART 2.0 initiative enhances the efficacy and safety of Ayurveda interventions by generating tangible evidence. In this program interdisciplinary research methods will be used to convert the benefits of Ayurveda in public health care.

Participation:

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) invites Ayurveda academic institutions and Ayurveda hospitals to take part in this initiative and to start collaborative research activities. Interested Ayurveda academic institutions can submit the “Expression of interest” through the official website of CCRAS.

About CCRAS:

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) comes under the Ministry of AYUSH(Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy), government of India. CCRAS is an autonomous body responsible for the development and Promotion of research in Ayurveda and it also promotes the coordination and formulation of sowa-Rigpa System of Medicine.

About NCISM:

The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine works under the Ministry of AYUSH. It has been designed to promote equitable and universal health care. It also ensures the improvement of the quality of Ayurveda, unani, siddha and sowa-Rigpa medical education.

Conclusion:

The SMART 2.0 initiative is the great step of The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) along with The National Commission for Indian System to educate Ayurveda Teaching Professionals. It would be appreciative of the efforts of the Ministry of Ayush to bring these types of initiatives.
