Elitist economy and job issues

• Experts are busy in analyzing the result of the election but we all know what are some critical issues pertaining in India such as economic distress and lack of jobs around the country.
• The Youth of India expect more jobs than religious infrastructures around the country.
• The job crisis has been one of the main issues of the country for at least 15 years. The statistics prove that the workforce participation rate in India is low at 49%.
• The most vulnerable part of the population impacted from the job loss is the Youth of India especially below 30 years. Around 80% of unemployed persons are below 30 years.
• According to an ILO report, one of the shocking problems is that a young person with a college degree is nine times as likely to be unemployed than its illiterate counterpart. This is disturbing because education is the way to get out of poverty.
• This is not the problem of only lower middle class Youth who have a degree, this creates issues for IIT graduates and IIM graduates also. They also find a job.
• Elitist nature of the Indian economy is one of the reasons for the lack of good jobs in India.
• India is continuously competing with the US and China in terms of GDP and forgets about the broad based well being indicator.
• Economy is captivated by big companies. If we talk about entrepreneurship we only celebrate unicorn companies. The Indian economy must give attention to medium and small enterprises.
