25 Lakh People Enrolled in Free Treatment Scheme for Senior Citizens

• The Ayushman Vay Vandana Card (AVVC) was launched on October 29 for senior citizens aged 70 and above, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of expanding the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).
• So far, 25 lakh senior citizens have enrolled under the scheme.
• Since its launch, over 22,000 senior citizens have utilized the card, availing treatments worth more than ₹40 crore.
• Beneficiaries have undergone medical procedures such as coronary angioplasty, hip replacement, cataract surgery, gallbladder removal, prostate resection, haemodialysis, stroke treatment, and enteric fever care.
